Okay, kind of an awkward one to explain, but I'd REALLY appreciate some help with this. I'm using 3Ds Max 2013. Say I make a model with the add poly tool, so its "hollow" as opposed to a square primitive, how do I make it "solid?" I need to make it solid, as I am using it as a Boolean cut, and at the moment all it cuts is the outlines of the shape.

i know you guys will understand me when i say this website is a fucking disgrace. the contest page allows one nigger to put up a 70 dollar bounty on a logo and get 100's of submission that only one person will win. most of them are designed for cheap by Indians. while experienced designers like you and me designers will change $1000,s for a logo and branding. there are so many people fighting online for their logo to win and the nigger that stared the bounty saved ~800 by getting idiots to do it. half of the shit i saw was Ps Rainbow gradients

Hello, Switching back to maya from SOFTIMAGE because of work. I know about double clicking to select an edge loop, but i cant seem to easily select a side edge loop like the picture I made. Does anyone know how? Thanks

Any ideas on how to turn a 3D matrix into a 3D solid? I'm making a program to have a matrix output, but not sure I would be able to handle making an STL file straight out of it.

So /3/. I'm making a lowpoly model with two lods. And a highpoly one to bake into the lowpoly. There's going to be just 1 texture used by both lods. What is the best way to make the UVs on both models "match" so it doesn't look odd. I mean the one to which I bake the highpoly is going to look good, the other one is going to have to "adapt" to the uv map of the other one so to speak. Is there any way for this to be done easily? I thought about just decimating the one with more polys, but it will probably not look good.

hello ! here is a defibrillator. I know want to make a normal map. Should I Use the hipoly, and delete some edges to make the lowpoly. Or should I use the low poly on the left and delete the supporting edges. ( in this case i guess I would have to add some chamfers to soften the edges so that they can support a normal map ??) thanks

Help me out /3/! I've been trying to solve this for hours... How do I render (in 3ds max) an AVI without a background? It doesn't seem possible so I tried rendering my movie with PNG's. I now have a folder with loads of PNG's, but I can't find a good program to merge them together into a movie format. I've tried "MakeAVI" and "Virtual Dub" but they just give me errors when I try to convert my PNG's. Halp.

My fingers are aching and im getting nausea because im used to being able to manipulate cameras by holding down the middle mouse button. The source is available so could some one who is technical please work on recompiling this with a different button layout.
