why is it not possible to temporarily paint symmetrical in blender? [noob here] lets say I model a simple rally car in blender. if I don't want the stickers on the car to be the wrong way round on one side, I have to have both sides separately on the UVmap, right? now it's a pain in the butt to paint it because you have to paint every side instead of one that gets mirrored. so I'd have to slap on the paint and racing trim on each side just to be able to have the decals right later on. I know this could be easily done outside of blender in whatever bitmap editor but this was just a quick example to kind of explain, why I'd like to have some kind of temporary "mirror mode" or "mirror brush" for things that are supposed to be on the other side, too.

How do I achieve this sort of look? Not the anime-style face, but the texturing. I've only ever worked with procedural materials before and even then my experience is limited. How would I get started learning how to paint a soft texture like these? What else is going on here? It looks like more than just a default material with only a UV in the color channel. What about specular, diffuse, luminance, etc.? I usually work in C4D but I'd like to replicate this sort of look in UE4.

Hey /3/ I was wondering if one of you could do me a favor and pose a 3d model? It seems like a silly request, but I'd appreciate it. Posing models is not my strong suit! The model is from Pokemon X/Y. I'm want it posed like pic related, but can't seem to get it right. Hi, I was looking for a program that allows you to make 3D body poses. One of the pages that I use is posemaniacs.com but now is not working. In addition, the images of that page are static and I would like to move the model. I have seen several programs but either do not work or give me some kind of error. I find it very strange that there is not any program or product quality for something so normal and useful. Some interesting programs I have seen are the Pose Studio. Thank you.

How do you guys go about creating bump or displacement maps for detailed human bodies? Most tutorials just use generic noise patterns which is sort of passable at lower resolutions but I have seen better. I know how I could create them in zbrush, but when it comes finding material regarding skin details I don't know where to start, I have seen even some people modding skyrim with very realistic 4k textures but I don't know where they get access to very high resolution scans of humans or get a comprehensive set of skins alphas for zbrush from.

how can i go about doing WoW, or LoL style texturing? I was once told to texture it regularly and than make it look that way by combining like normal map (green channel) bent normal map, detail map and AO until u get it to look that way? or is there another way?
