I'm making the transition from Blender to Maya.
I started modeling as a hobby last December making at least an item a day on Blender.
Does anyone have some advice that can help this transition smoother?
It took me a long, long time to get well acquainted with Blender's interfaces and shortcuts. About 5 months into learning, I discovered Shift + Space to hide the right side menus, T to hide to hide the toolbar, etc. I know Maya's XYZ axes a changed in comparison to Blender's.
I just don't want to make the same, inefficient mistakes of learning a program. Any advice?

Hi /3 I have a question which is more about physics than 3D but I haven't find any answers on the internet, so I hope someone here will help me.
I found out the other day this post about IOR on a glass of water and my problem come from the part where glass and water are in contact.
In that case, we divide Glass IOR by Water IOR and the result is 1.14 I thought this was done this way because the light has to cross the glass first and the water then.
But today I was watching some tutorials and found out that some guys do the opposite, they divide Liquid IOR by Glass IOR so the result is 0.875
Now I'm thinking of it, depending on where you put your light, it may cross water first and glass after, so maybe it do not depend of this
So my question is what's the way to find the good IOR when two surfaces are in contact ? Which divide which and why ?
By the way, my pic is two very simple and fast render test I did with two differents IOR for glass/water part and the 0.87 looks very strange to me. There is no lights in the scene, just checker as environnement for the reflections.
