I've got a drive to create some 3D porn, but the one thing I'm not understanding is how people that obtain their assets. I'm assuming people that create their pron DON'T model and rig their character from scratch, so where are the getting them? The only resource I know about that's pretty accessible is XNALara models, which are pre-rigged and pretty much ready to go. Thing is I see so much animated porn and not many people use xps and mesh assets from XNALara, so where are they getting their nude models from? Thanks for any help!

Alright /3/. I need to decide on a primary software for doing this kind of work, so that I can get up to speed with it. I am most experienced with Maya (free student license ftw), but buying a commercial license for itis just not in my price range. So, I am left to choose between: >Lightwave >Modo >Blender I plan on doing general CG work freelance, and making a little side money by selling game assets through various online stores. Are there any of the programs that are particularly well-suited (or poorly-suited) to doing any of these things? I hear there is some kind of issue with Lightwave and needing to 'patch' meshes together to get normals right, which makes it a pain for game assets. Is that so? Are there quirks like that with the others that present unusual problems in working with them in specific areas? Also note that I have a commercial license for ZBrush, so sculpting abilities in any of these programs are not that big a deal for me, and if necessary I can make my normal maps for things in it. Thanks for any advice you can offer here, t/3/apots.

This is probably the wrong place to ask this, but since i love the brutal honesty some of you have, here it goes. I'm currently a digital composer working with film and ads, but i'm kinda of sick and tired of working with pretentious fucks and drug addicted fuckheads ( most compers are) and dealing with video shit all day long, there are times when i ask myself what i'm doing with my life erasing some tiny little shit at 3 am because some supervisor is a retard, so i''ve been playing around with the ideia of becoming a modeler again, since this is how i started way back in 2003 but since 2008 havent touched anything related, but the idea of making and building shit instead of just polishing it and erasing shit makes me want to comeback. So my question is, are there any professional modelers here? what is it like to work professionaly with this? i would ask some coworkers but i'm affraid to get fired by just mentioning i'm not fucking happy working for a asshole that makes me overwork for nothing. Sorry for the bad english, this is not my main language.

Saw this over at /lit/ and thought it would be fitting for /3/. Do any of you study architecture or archaeology to improve your 3d modeling skills? I've never studied modern architecture, but I like to study ancient tombs and other ruins and then attempt to recreate them in blender. You can definitely learn a lot on the aesthetic side.

Sup /3/ been out of the 3d modelling game for over two years. I've picked it back up recently and got the grasps of the basics again. I can model props decently and I can create PBR materials.
