I'm trying to create a particle manipulator window with python.. I am having a lot of trouble connecting the emitted particles with pp attributes, or however you do it.
Does anyone have time to help?
import maya.cmds as cmds
# Creates a point emitter.
cmds.emitter( dx=1, dy=0, dz=0, sp=0.33, pos=(1, 1, 1), n='myEmitter' )
cmds.particle( n='emittedParticles' )
cmds.connectDynamic( 'emittedParticles', em='myEmitter' )
# This will set the velocity of all of the particles in particle1
# to << 1, 2, 3 >>.
cmds.setParticleAttr( 'emittedParticles', at='velocity', vv=(0, 0, 0) )
$vel = emittedParticles.velocity;
if (($vel.y) > 5)
emittedParticles.myEmitterRatePP = 0;
Here I am just trying to create an emitter that produces particles with no speed.. fuck i have no idea what im doing

Welcome to /3/'s Basic Box Challenge: Pokemon Edition
Here are the rules;
1. Have fun
2. Make your model out of multiple instances of simple boxes, ie. each shape used must have 8 vertices.
3.For this run, all submissions must be related to pokemon, that can be the pocket monsters themselves, characters, locations you name it.
4.There is no restriction on bump maps or displacement maps if you so choose to use them.
5.Color and texture as much or as little as you want.
Other considerations. Let's try to keep all submissions either 800x600 or 1080x720 for consistency.
Let's keep discussions of software used out of this thread.
Comments and critiques are encouraged, but let's be civil about it, I know it seems cool to type out swear words on the internet, but you are a better person than that, I believe in you.
Any questions? Let's see what you can do /3/!
(There are no prizes or scoring rubric for this, where do you think you are?)
