Sup, t/3/apots. I have a few years' experience in Maya, probably 3.5 to 4, and while I like it, buying it to use commercially is just a flat out no go. So, I am thinking about going to Blender. I have a challenge for you, /3/. I'm reprogramming some of Portal's portal rendering system and I've rigged up a system that allows for arbitrary portal skins up to dumb levels of complexity. Build me some fucking EXTRAVAGANT portal textures to test the system. You can use any combination of any kind of materials you want. Glowing? No problem. Refractive? No problem. Scattering? No problem. Just provide: normal maps (if applicable) albedo masks for the normal maps/albedo masks for the shape of the portal masks for the shape of the portal while it's opening All maps can be animated. There are no limitations. Make me something ridiculous. These textures will not be used for anything serious, but the winner(s) will get something cool.
