Looking for a bit of help mostly with blender UV texture mapping. I understand how to create textures for individual materials and place them on my objects, however attempting to create a UV map leaves the entire object scaled wrong on the map. Is there a way to have it scale properly or do I just need to make my UV map base image really large and then manually adjust each UV to scale on it?

So what made PT look so good? Was it the small closed area, that allowed them to make each object more detailed or something more is in play?

So I decided to make a higher detailed version of my final project for a 3D class. It was mainly about robots in an industrial setting. I based this one off of FANUC's style. Its not done and I still need an end effector and a butt ton of cabling. tl;dr Tell me which rules I broke about making high-detail models if you see any. Pardon the amateur-esque shots. I did not smooth anything and rendered it as is.

What are some goog /3/ open source software that run in linux besides blender? I mean stuff that is related to making /3/ products like animation, games, vfx, (the whole package) like gimp, cinelerra, jashaka, inkscape, krita, mypaint, pencil, KDEdit, LMMS, hydrogen, milkytraker.

hi /3/, i'm new to blender and only slightly less new to 3d modelling. i want to transform this edge on the Z axis and have it snap to the face above it. i've tried all of the snap options but whenever i drag the blue arrow up, the edge just passes through the face. im so fucking mad i just filled my diaper with shit please help

Anyone know whats causing the texture pinch in this picture? I vertex'd out a flat sword plane, then faced it and extruded it along the y. split the middle and use the middle split to draw the seam/make the sharp edge pushing out.. Tried unwrapping and using smart project, getting the same effect.

I'm accepting Blender requests. You tell me what you want drawn, and I will draw it in exchange for dank memes.

Issue with 3ds max baking

7 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Hey people! I've got an issue regarding 3ds max high poly baking. I imported the basic model to zbrush to sculpt it and then back for the bake process. When baking the object to low poly I get a lot of ray miss points (areas with red). I have tried increasing the size of the cage but that does not solve the issue either.

>be Pixar >send the biggest douchebag on your team to create a blender plugin >support is fucking non existent >try to report obj import error Seriously PRman for blender fucked blendfags so much, it fucked over the entire obj import system. >Anyone who tries to download PRman for blender and has actually owned PRman before will be forced to upgrade because blender trace back errors >"You can't complain cause it's free." -Brian Savery >topkek.ptx Oh, it's good to be part of the Autodesk master race...

A question for the blender people I wanted to fix some stuff in my mesh so deleted a smaller part of it and now I want to fill that hole again. The thing is, I was pretty much done with the whole model with textures, UVs and all. I thought deleting some faces and filling the hole wouldn't be a bigger problem but apparently it isn't as easy as I thought. Do I really have to do the whole UV AGAIN just for a handful of changed polygons?
