How does one model arms for a game model, so they don't fucking twist like plasticine? Does anybody have tutorials on good limb topology and armature weight? I just can't get it. I've noticed that in older games like MGS1 characters had arms as separate models and these could be rotated freely without fucking up the shoulders, chest and armpits, but the newer generation models have arms attached to torso and there's no problem. What's the secret? More vertexes?

Maya, 3Ds Max and C4D user learning Blender for the fuck of it. I'm really liking it so far but I wonder if you know of any good must-haveadd-ons. So far I activated LoopTools, Node Wrangler and Extra Objects, and wondering if Export Camera Animation does what it says? Can I say export my camera animations to After Effects if I tick this add-on?

With the transpose being hit or miss in Zbrush, would it just be easier to make a base 3d mesh within a program like Maya? I am still within the first year of using Zbrush to try and make a solid portfolio. So any small critiques would also be a great help. This is my first time doing a full bodied "clothed" female, or really any female that wasn't a bust.

So I'd really appreciate what information you could give me on the following colleges, ALL of which I am considering for Animation/ Game Design ***Sheridan***This school is considered to be the #1 in the entire world for animation and I am highly considering it even though it is in Canada. *Champlain* Pretty decent school on a beautiful landscape next to the Champlain lake, happens to be the #16 school but is pretty damn impressive Ringling I like this school because its well known throughout the world but it has SO MUCH FUCKING DRAWING. I'm not fucking kidding when I say you might not even touch a computer till your 3rd year. I'm the only 3D asset creator in a group project, so I have to do the rig even though I am trash at it. I got the rest of the rig working fine thanks to the magic of youtube and forums, but I can't find a solution on how to stop this from happening. I found solutions that involve higher poly-counts and way more bones. But is there a way to solve this without changing my mesh?

Is there anyone on here that has tried both of these engines and could give me some insight on their inner workings and stuff? So here are my questions: 1. How big of a pain in the ass is to make assets for these engines? are there any special requirements that your rig and materials and all that stuff have to meet? 2. How good is the blender support? like i couldnt find any proper UDK tools for blender, how about unity? does it have a better blender support? 3. I dont know shit about programming, do these development kits have me covered? and to what extent? can i like for example, have some script generator tool thing that i just input values and stuff and it generates code for me? like for example i have a model of a car, i drag and drop some vehicle mechanism thing in it and than set values on the speed and acceleration and all that stuff and turn it into a driveable vehicle? or a weapon model that i drag and drop something into it and than enter values like how fast will it shoot and if it will be semi or full auto and mark witch end the bullets will come out? 4. Can i have some sort of an addon function that would let me make additional content for my game afterwards that players can just download and drop it into their lets say player's folder and have new playable characters available in the character select screen like you had in quake2 and 3?

Hey /3/ I made this model, textured it and personally It think it is decent. My problem is: when I render it there are wierd pixelated parts of the texture and small lighting errors here and there that ruin the render and make it look crappy. Does anyone know how I can fix this and any general tips on how to acheive a great render? Thanks! also, I am using blender.
