Hello /3/, I was wondering what was the most efficent way of automatic uv unwrapping for lightmaps.
I create the models in Maya, then organize the regular texture uvs so that they overlap, tedious but easy, then i just duplicate the object and use them as needed.
However I need non overlapping uvs for lightmaps and when dealing with large scenes that re-use the same object many many times all over the place it's no fun (and efficient) to be manually setting up each one.
I was using the automatic option in Maya but this tends to create too many artifacts.
