Hello, new architect here. I don't know if this is the right place to post this or in /p/. I measured this church and designed it in AutoCAD (seven layouts). I want to turn it into 3d in 3dsmax. I don't have any problem modeling, but when it comes to texturing I don't know what to do. The inside of the church is full of curves that have hagiographies on them. Is there in the market some kind of photocamera-scanner that can scan the curved hagiographies and make flat images of them so that I can place them on the unwraped surfaces.? How should I deal this problem? Again, sorry if this is the wrong board.

Need some help /3/. Getting some really annoying artifacts in xNormal. Tried to use a cage and that didn't work. Tried editing the model itself and that changed nothing as well. So far nothing has fixed it. Any ideas?

What if we all pool our efforts together and create a project? I remember a while back /3/ creatted its own futuristic city with different people modeling different parts of the city and uploading them here. It was pretty badass. What if we created Neo Tokyo from Akira, everyone just models and textures part of it at their leisure and uploads it and we all work together to create a huge and complex scene. Doesn't this sound like a cool idea?

Inventorfag here, I'm working on making a mold that would be 3D printed, I figured my best course of action would be making the object (that would be molded), and somehow inverse that into a mold. Does anybody here know how I could basically turn the model into anti-matter and put it inside of a block to create a hollow mold? I could try and print the model itself and make a mold out of clay, but I'd like to skip a step, and it's always good if I can learn something new. Anyone here have any tips or experience with anything like this?

Have you seen this documentary /3/? https://youtu.be/HL0RH3x7Zzo?t=7m Its a documentary about computer animation both 2d and 3d, but mostly 3d, from 1988. Its definitely worth a watch if you are not familiar with old outdated technology and tools and where the 3d industry is coming from. The process they went through to model and animate that guy at 0:70 seems totally ridiculous.

What's the best free software to animate models? Also, is it possible to import blender model into SFM, animate it and export the animation to Unity, or back to Blender? I never used SFM but I heard it's a really good tool, so I'm wondering if I should switch.
