Anon halp, I need to learn basic 3d modelling (Including curves and some basic textures) in two days to design a mansion for a project I'm working on. Any tips/videos that would help me get started real quick in Blender? P.S. The most complicated thing in the mansion, I believe is a set of two winding staircases at the back of the main hall.

Hello, young architect here. I'm planning to make a series of photogrammetry old churches scans, using Agisoft, then retopo in zbrush (and map extraction) or topogun and place them to Unity3d engine for a virtual experience. I'm looking for a good 3d scanner, pic related. Maximum distance is for this one 130 meters which is ok. BUT! If you have better suggestions or have experience with that kind of hardware, please tell me. Anything helps. Money is not a problem, but I want to be reasonable, I don't want to go overkill. Thanks!

Why is sketchup so shitty for modelling? I keep receiving models from clients made in this crap and the normals are everywhere except where they need to be. I'm getting to a point where I might start refusing working with models made in this crap because this happens every fucking time Is the program to blame or do people messing with it have excessive cromossomes? What schools did you guys go to to learn this stuff? I can't figure out if some of these schools are just cash grabbers or wtf is going on. The only schools I'm certain of are SCAD and some New York film school. I live in Ga though and SCAD seems like the only option but it costs soooooooo much money.

Unable to edit envelopes on skin modifier on both 3DS Max 2012 and 2015

Right, so I'm porting a model from WoW into Skyrim and I'm having issues getting the rig working, or more like having issues getting the skin modifier to work In 3DS Max 2012, I can see the envelopes and only add weight to them. When I try to remove weight from the model be it either by selecting vertices or weight painting, it completely ignores the commands. Same goes for when I'm trying to adjust the envelopes. I even removed Isolated vertices. In 3DS Max 2015, I can add and remove vertices BUT I can't see them, so I'm completely blind when trying to do anything rig related in 3DS Max 2015. Both versions of 3DS Max are legit and fully updated with the latest service packs. This is pretty irritating since I've spend two hours now trying to figure out what could be causing this. Anybody knows about any possible fix?

So I'm trying to make my first character model, following a tutorial. But as it's gone on, I've noticed I've got there weird sections where the model itself seems to grow past and obscure the edges and vertices, as opposed to the smooth model shown in the video I''m following. How do I fix that?
