Any pointers on realistic textures and what needs to be payed attention too - in relations to shaders and the way models are rendered within the game environment?

Maya Educational

I'm using Maya educational for animation and rigging because I know how to use it, but I really want to export animated cycles to unity for making games. The only thing I'm worried about is them saying you can't use it for commercialised stuff. I'll learn blender if I have to for animating, I'm more just wondering if i'm good to go with Maya or if as soon as I try to sell a game i've spent say 4 years working on the Autodesk Gestapo will be knocking down my door. Pic Related.

CATIA

CATIA V5 question: I want evenly spaced points on a surface (not perfectly distributed). The surface is a curved cylinder, similar to a toroid (pictured). How do I do it? My current approac: 1) Generate an even cloud of points that surrounds the entire shape. 2) Filter the points closest to the surface by offsetting it and trimming. 3) Project the remaining points on the surface. I can do the filtering but when I try to project the points they are projected twice (since my surface is cylindrical), one on the close side and one on the far side. So, any ideas on how to achieve this in CATIA?

guys I need some help

when using pose mode in blender, I can't move my bones. Pic related is what I get, it just shows me an axis and I can't do shit? I'm obviously a noob so I guess I must've changed some option and now I don't know what do to.

I'm currently in 1st year at my animation college and I need to render some sort of "semi realistic fruit" with sub surface scattering, lighting and such (the full works). I've decided to do a pineapple, because I feel I can have some fun with the little hairy protrusions at the tip of the spiked segments - and they look rather interesting when sliced. Here's what I've got so far (work in progress, I know it looks kinda bad at the moment), any C&C WELCOME! I'm pretty experienced with modelling in blender, what's wrong with my pinpaple? Thanks all, software used: Maya, V-ray, Mari.

Tfw too stupid to understand how to UV unwrap things properly in blender. Does anyone else here struggle with this? I love modelling and i love texturing but im just to dumb to make good UV maps that dont have artifacts or bad stretching and none of the video tutorials ive seen have really helped me understand it. I am completely self taught and kicking myself that i didnt go to uni for this stuff. Help please
