I have a problem /3/... could you help me out? I was using zbrush spotlight to paint and add some detail to a model. I created some PUVs used spotlight just fine, then created the texture from polypaint. All worked just fine till there... now i want to add some more detail to it but spotlight just won't project the color... in fact i don't think is proyecting anything. What could be the problem? did i screw up somewhere? (i could re do everything from scratch and paint the texture in photoshop but i am a noob to zbrush so i wanted to learn how to do it this way) Any help would be apreciated.

Hi /3/ I'm trying to make a texture by using zbrush in 2.5D I made a couple variations of a brick and want to put them next to each other but they need to be equally sized. Is there a way to do so because when I draw one of the stones in 2.5D I have to eyeball the size of it which is annoying. Thanks in advance /3/

I've got a good (but at the rate tech becomes obsolete it wont be so for long) comp, and I am looking to upgrade it. For 3D Graphics, what are the most important things I should upgrade? RAM? GPU? CPU? I'm pressed for cash, so I was gonna shoot for some more ram and MAYBE a new processor, but TBH I don't know. I do photorealistic interiors/exteriors and I'd like to not have to wait six hours for a render to finish. I'm guessing RAM and CPU power factor into that. I'd also like to be able to do architectural walkthroughs and character animations, but animation at good-quality is a pipe dream atm. What does /3/ suggest if I want to have high quality animation in photo realistic scenes? What do I upgrade?

Hey /3/ I'm currently working on Maya 2013 on a project. I need to send the animation I've made to a friend using Max 2010 for rendering. There's enough difference between the two versions so that whenever he tries to open it as an .fbx file, it crashes his program. So I wanted to know if there's a way for me to bake the animation on my rigged model so I can send a file to him without the skeleton and controls.

If i make a model in zbrush using dynamesh, can i export it to 3ds or maya or whatever supports vray to do a render? would the polypaint be preserved in exporting a certain format or do i need to do a texture map transfer of some sort? i really like sculpting and i don't really have the skills yet to transfer to vert/face/edge editing to make my clothes/anatomy/hair(or static particle either). Anyway, how big of an issue is it to export a high poly model to do a vray render? is it as bad as trying to rig/animate?

I'm using VRAY to render a scene with this background on it. The problem is that colors gets washed out by the sun light after rendering which gives a fake look to the background. I tried the composting tag and didn't get any results. Any suggestions? PLEASE!!!

im trying to import an automatically unwrapped model to blender from max, in the max viewport everything looks fine, but when i import the model to blender the uvs are chaotic and are not like in the uv editor in max. there seem to be vn coordinates in the obj file bunt in the mtl file there is no texture path -- do i have to bake the uv in max somehow or is it a blender problem help plz

Hey /3/ Anyone here use Crazy Bump or any other Normals mapping program? I've been Lurking on many resources and I've only Figured where most of the maps go in a MAYA program. For example: >Normal maps goes into = Bump map File nodes >Displacement maps goes into = There own node Via right click and connection to the mesh. >Occlusion Map goes into = Ambient File Node Via Ambient Color option in Attribute editor >Specularity Map goes into = Specular Color Via only if the shader has a reflective surface. >Diffuse Map = is just a normal texture file you put in Color via Attribute editor. My question, Is this correct? I have a feeling that I'm not getting the right visuals, even though I change many of the attributes like alpha and color gain along with ambient color. I usually get this weird highlight in the Occlusion and Specularity. looks something like picture related. The wood grain spots are no where near the textures appearance. And I get this weird glow while in the dark (which is the ambient setting) Also how do you set up your mappings? in the setting portion?
