Hi I'm very new to blender software and would like to know if there is anyway to make cross sections out of any 3D mesh file to make something similar to this skull in the pic out of cardboard. I tried to decompile the game and save the helmet file in another format, but im a noob and i failed. Can anyone help me, please? How long should it take to render a cube in luxrender. I have never played with it before and thought I would take a look at it, but 8 hours into rendering a shitty scene and I lost interest. So here's a glass cube. It is rendering away with no end in site. How long would you guys expect this to take? Also cube thread; render some cubes. ( I haven't seen one of those in forever. )

Baking normals in blender for games

Does anyone here know how to properly bake normal maps in blender for use in games? Do you have a workflow you can post? I am trying to bake a cylindrical lamp and keep encountering issues with normals not lining up or being just plain wrong. I know that blender renders the red and green channels inverted. Pictured is the best map that I got and that was a complete accident from using a highpoly that I had to bevel and distort to get normals that didn't just render flat. Every other map im rendering now just makes things worse and makes it super obvious that it's a low poly model.

Blender noob here. So i made a model in Blender, UV mapped it and got my texture done, then made a bump map in Photoshop. How do I now apply that bump map to my model? I can apply the texture image just fine, is it not pretty similar to that. Also, should i be using a bump map made in PS, or should I be baking a normal map in Blender and using that?
