Maya noob here who just upgraded from 2009 to 2013 and now I have a problem with the bridge tool who is seriously pissing me off:
When using the bridge tool to bridge to edges like in the picture, border edges are created and I cant for the fucking life of me get rid of them without deleting all the surrounding geometry and rebuilding it, merging verts does nothing and neither does cleanup with default or all settings enabled.
Right now im just extruding one edge and then manually snapping the vertices to their new home and welding, but I really miss the bridge tool.
Tried deleting the maya folder in my documents, playing with the bridge tool settings.

I really love shading, rendering, texturing but don't care for modelling. Does anyone here have a simple prop they'd be willing to share? Something that is decently modelled, and not too complicated, like a gun, skull, sword, iphone, etc.
I just want something neat to play with on my off-time, and I can give all the shaders, textures, everything back to you to keep and you can love it and hug it and cherish it forever.

/3/ It's been a long time since a collaboration project was suggested. So I propose a new one (and slightly less extravagant, so it's actually doable) Rather than pic related
Basically I propose we remodel the box art of a game. From start to finish - entirely all /3/'s creation. Anything from SNES to Now as long as it's not overly ambitious and doable.
The idea came from me, thinking of remodelling some Final Fantasy IX characters, and then I thought, how about I model them all and remake the box art for the game. So taking that idea, maybe one of you has a better game cover art that would be fun to collaborate on.
Basically post some of your favourite box arts and lets get a voting thread going. Hopefully we find one we all like.

I want to export a model from blender to 3dsmax with all the textures, bones, etc. still intact, how do I do that?
I'd import the model directly into 3dsmax but the plugin doesn't exist for that, so I have to import it to blender first.
Fuck blender, I can't work with that thing...

Do any of you make money from your work that you do in spare time? I've been doing 3D for a while, not with the view to making any money, but it's just good fun to make stuff with it. However, making some profit (Even only small amounts) would be nice. So, how much do you make, if anything? How do you do it, what kind of stuff do you make, etc?
