Hey, me and my mate are going to run some business and we decided to rent an office. As we don't want to spend alot of money on first equiping so we want to go for Ikea furniture. Here's my simple concept of how our office could look. It's 5,1m x 2,95m, height is about 2,55m. There's going to be 2 of us with probability of 1 more co-worker who could sit on the end's of our tables. What do you guys think? Any ideas how this could look better or space would be used more effective? Tables are 150cm*60cm (there are bigger/smaller in ikea but this would be probably the best option), couch is 137cm*78cm and is fold-out (to bed - 205cm, not sure if I'm saying it right), "book self" is 149cm*149cm*39cm (we don't have to stick to this one but there's not much to chose from in this price category). Windows are heading to the West, not openable, probably some good lighting would be great.

I'm aware that Poser and its various imitators are quite rightly frowned upon around here as being nothing but shit used by deviants to make awful looking niche fetish porn, but hear me out; I'm essentially looking for something I can use to quickly produce images of a large variety of characters of varying shapes and sizes. Makehuman is semi-decent in this regard, but still leaves a lot to be desired. The reason I want this is because I'm a roleplaying faggot and the number of characters in my RP group who have outdated, or in many cases, no art is starting to become ridiculous. The RP universe has, over the years that we've been going, become so populated with minor but persistent characters, that it's starting to fucking infuriate me. I just need something that can I can sit down with for a few weekends and bang out a bunch of decent looking pics. I used to draw them, but doing so takes me several days to per image, and I honestly don't have that kind of time any more, given the number of characters. tl;dr version, what's the best way for me to go about making mass-produced shit?

After Effects Cs4 help I'm trying to do camera projection to turn a 2D picture into a 3D environment. I'm following this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3QtZeO90HM&feature=relmfu But my AE won't collaborate. I checked all settings and they are, as far as I can tell, accurately right. My light can cast shadows, it's Point type, FFFFFF color, it was repositioned to match the Camera. Camera is 35 mm, no focal shift Image was properly resized. You can see more material settings in the image. What is happening here, /3/? Why do my planes appear just plain white instead of showing the image projected? Thank you very much for any help guys

If this is a stupid thread, feel free to ignore it. I'm mostly a 2D artist, I guess a character artist if you had to classify, but I started getting into 3D because it lets me bring characters to life more than just a pencil. The thing is, I never got a shot at "the industry" (any industry, really), because I didn't finish college, and I've been teaching myself Zbrush and shit as a hobby in hopes that in a few years, maybe I'll be good enough to get looked at. But now my family is getting on my case to get out of the freelancing ditch and get a real career. So my question is simple; If you had your choice of any school in the US to take classes that would lead you to a job in some industry as a 3D artist, which school would it be? I figure if I actually learn CG from the ground up, I might actually come out with enough knowledge to put together a decent portfolio. Or just laugh and tell me why it's a stupid idea and I should do something else.

I am bored of doing nothing So, I am thinking of recreating my city with a program... I started working with Google Sketchup in 2009 and I believe that I have mastered that program. Since then I haven't made any buildings... By recreating my city I'd love to put it in a game, for example Crysis2 or zombie game, hope WarZ will let me do this, heard something that modders might be able to recreate real life cities and implement them into the game...not sure about it though Besides this, I'd like to be appreciated, by whom, I really dont know Also I'd like to include my city on Google Maps 3D By doing this I hope that I might get involved more in arhitecture So any tips?
