ok guys, rate me.
I know my skills aren't top tier, but today I did my first baby compositing on After Effects, it felt really good.
Compositing is amazing.
Please rate, don't hate.
I was trying to learn stuff while doing that video and I wanted an opinion.
Right now I feel motivated, I want to start making animations like japanese guys.
I know it needs face topology and the textures kind of suck.
I promise to work on that.
What do you think of the model mesh? It looks ok?
BTW I can't animate with cycles because I'm the guy with Intel celeron 430 + 1 gb ram.
What do you guys recommend for animation?
Maya vs Max.
Which one allow for easier rigging and has tools for facial expressions?
Should I render each character and prop on his own .avi so I can composite them in after effects/premiere?
Why Sony vegas is so picky with importing files? (I had to use virtual dub as avi encoder).
Should I work with Premiere or Sony Vegas?
What software do you recommend for:
- Texturing and UV.
- Prop creation and background generation (stuff like trees for toon animations).
Should I use Bones Pro with Max?
Are there good alternatives to the Max plugins the software company that creates Bones Pro makes?
What's the diference between Nuke and After effects?
Why should I learn Nuke?
How bout Houdini? Real flow? Marmoset toolbox?
What other software should I learn?
Can I render Toon characters with V-ray?
What do you recommend?

I am new to 3d. I am attempting to construct model of a geneva drive, similar to the one in this picture, in Blender. I tried making the maltese cross with bezier curves, but this is not working out well, as everything has to be very precise in order for the drive to work correctly. If anyone has any advice on how to go about this, or any tutorials that you think I may find helpful it would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance

ok guys, since I have an intel celeron 430 + 1GB RAM I can't work on zbrush since when I save, the software crashes.
So, what cheap alternative do I have?
Are the traditional ways still doable in today's world?
I'm talking Blenderella style.
So, in another note, what are the cheapest and fastess way to make animations today?
I'm talking about making 30 min on one week.
What tricks, tips, shortcuts, cheats do you know.
I was thinking about low poly backgrounds, with simple shapes and colors.
Of course we're talking about getting the best quality for the cheapest fucking china slave price.
