Furry Friday! ...not really Any fur experts here? I'm using Maya and I want to render animals. I've been studying Mental Ray and I want to be able to use raytraced shadows, light decay and indirect illumination. Sadly, after toying around a little with May Fur, it appears that it cannot be rendered correctly with the aforementioned settings and renderer This sucks /3/ (why does autodesk produce features that are good standalone but don't work with eachother, by the way?) So, what fur system should I use that can produce realistic results and manage the usage of advanced rendering features?

Hello /3/ It brings me great joy to discover this board amongst the many available on 4chan. I enter this fine looking community with a question in regards to rigging up a tail in maya. Picture related is what i have so far and as a rather inexperienced beginner to the 3D world I am a little uncertain as to how i would go about making the tail of my creature move in a realistic fashion. Essentially i would want it to sway to the left as he steps to the right and sway to the right as he steps to the left. In order to do this i set up an IKhandle from the pelvis to the end of the tail which worked somewhat, however it did so ignoring the joints within the tail and made it appear extremely stiff an unrealistic. I have done/am currently doing some google searches in order to find a result but thought i would stop in here in order to get a bit of personal advice. Thank you in advance :)
