Hi. Blenderfag here. I wanted to start learning how to make my own objects move and pose. But IDK how to begin. Also, I have been trying to make cel shading by using a custom shading curve where I make, for example a white object with a... white... color so in the shader I give it a constant black up somwhere on the middle and then put a constant white. But I don't know if that's the correct way about doing things and if there's an source I could read about art-styles applied to 3D. Like making it look pic related (which I think it's IRL paper).

Okay so after watching Texas Chainsaw 2013, i decided i was going to make Alexandra Daddario in 3D, in Maya/Mudbox. Here's my progress so far(pretty much just the chest /shoulders is what i've gotten to today)... Need tips on how to recreate the face/ears. (probably will post on a later date about clothing) Also this is 2nd 3D model i've made(making?) so yeah

how do you convert a regular image into an actual topographic 3D image? using conversion type that uses shades, one anon once did this, but I am not sure how he did it, nor did he tell us I found apps that are used for topographic mapping, they take shade indicated elevations and app converts it into 3D, but im not sure if that could work with a picture, before I go ahead and try I wanted to know if there are other techniques or software for pictures in particular.

To all Programmers / game developers. How about developing a game engine. No, I am not one of these guys who learned how to print a string in c and now want to develop a game engine. I am currently studying game development (yes this is possible here in germany) and i totally know how much work it is. There are also many parts i dont know how to do, but thats the point.

Just curious, if you had a character you were working on, lets say in Zbrush, and you wanted to make and import shoes for him which you made in a manner similar to this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVD8U5d99IU How would you go about animating that part of the character in the future should it need animating? Would you retopologize over all the work you just did, or would you need to use another method to create the shoe in the first place keeping in mind good topology for deforming while animating? I've always wondered about this. Thanks for any replies I get.

For school we are supposed to make a big project so a friend and I thought it'd be fun to 3d model our school. Now my question is what is the best program to do that? I've looked around a bit and I think ArchiCAD is supposedly the best one. anyone here who can give me some more info about this?
