I got an entire skeleton made in modo that i wish to export in fbx to maya, every items you have in modo has a special FBX channel that export them in a default name wich is'nt the one displayed in the hierarchy.
So my question is : does any of you know of a tool or a piece of code that could replace the default fbx name by the one in the hierarchy for the entire selection ?
I created this piece of code(useable in the command prompt) :
item.channel FBX_Name "Name"
Wich only changes the value to Name, so i need something like item.name ...
btw, Modo supports python, lua and perl.

how do you convert a regular image into an actual topographic 3D image? using conversion type that uses shades, one anon once did this, but I am not sure how he did it, nor did he tell us
I found apps that are used for topographic mapping, they take shade indicated elevations and app converts it into 3D, but im not sure if that could work with a picture, before I go ahead and try I wanted to know if there are other techniques or software for pictures in particular.
