Not the masterpiece of WtC, obviously, but a good read nonetheless.

It's mafia prostitute taking back japan from 'merica and China who really don't give a fuck about japan after they whooped their asses before WW2 ended.

And 'merica is pretty 'merica in the best way, they double cross everyone and pretend they care for everyone without forming a true allience, just like good ol' US of A.

Ep8 was good. Not great but it had it moments of greatness imo.

People hate it because it didn't answer much and it left with a LOL AMNESIA and I remember hating it with everyone else.
But rereading it again, I enjoyed it for what it was and it did do a lot.

The way it ended with Battler being laid to rest with that beautiful song in the background was beautiful.

What I find funny, possibly ironic, is that Ep8 gave a solution to pretty much everything outside the gameboard.
We finally know what happened to Ange and Battler and we know the truth behind the whole story. Everything, other than the mystery obviously, is resolved and given a good explanation.

By the end, Bern is happy that the story is finished and that she played her role that was needed.

Ep 8 is very underrated and is possibly one of the best episodes in Umineko imo.

>What I find funny, possibly ironic, is that Ep8 gave a solution to pretty much everything outside the gameboard.
I think the issue was that people couldn't care about that, and much of the things outside the gameboard were things that were added late in the story (Hachijou Tohya, for example).

I also read plenty of posts of people who said the ending the gave Battler didn't even feel like an accomplishment. Battler, the way he was presented, was no more and only Tohya remains. He met Ange because he felt he needed to, but he didn't really want to have anything to do with her.
But well, that's an issue on whether the ending was happy or sad, so I didn't care.

Would Rosa even be nearly as popular if the Rosa Musou scene had never existed?
I mean, the scene was cool as fuck, but other than that, she was always presented as a terrible mother and not a especially good person.

Natsuhi, I don't know what to say, she didn't get much focus in EP5, but even then she fell into the imaginary-friends syndrome, and her story didn't seem to justify (at least to me) her murdering that maid and the child.

Eva I could like a lot. She was a bitch, but her reasons for being a bitch were understandable. She really loved her family, and had to put up with a fuckton of shit after surviving Rokkenjima, due to endless slandering and likely having to keep up a secret.

Kyrie... she was cool, but I always got the impression from her that she was heavily double-faced. She was the most intelligent in the cast (likely followed by Eva), but many of her scenes were just her being cool, but little to no depth. In EP7's Tea Party it's shown she killed everyone along with Rudolph, the same thing is done in the game in EP8, Ange's and Tohya's reactions to the truth make me think those scenes might have not been Bern merely trolling.

I'm indifferent towards Bern. I've always been. I'm still see her as Rika and really hate her as an antagonist because I feel bad, but I guess that is what makes her such a good one. Her in episode 7 really makes me question what her motives were, was she just bored? Or did she really want to expose the truth? Or maybe all that with Will and Leon was just to help the reader through hints.

I don't think he knew much about any mystery. Furthermore, he was an actual witness of the events.

The one who had to solve mysteries was Tohya, since he had to... you know, recover his memories.

Anyway, I don't see what any of this has to do with his attempt at suicide once he found the truth.
Meta Ange did the same when she read the diary too.

I don't think so. Battler doesn't solve the mystery before chapter 4 when Beatrice confronts him and he in episode 7 Will says it should've been Battler who put Beatrice to sleep but he didn't solve it in time so Will has to do it instead. I think Tohya solved the mystery and that's what resulted in him getting his memories back.

Nice bait.

Ep 5 comments on that fact that although many mystery books ignore the Knox rules, Beatrice intended for her mystery to be solved.
Whether or not you think Knox is applicable is up to you but Beatrice (in this analogy, this would mean Ryukishi) gives all his trust that you will solve the story.

As expected of mystery fans.

What Bern shown in tea party 7 was what mystery fans in the real world consider to be what happened on the island.

It's what the ''goats'' in Ange's school to tease and bully her. They tell her all these mean things about her family for years.
It's the reason why Ange sees them as Goat, which is ironically what Goats represent, people who can't think and just shout bullshit.

It's also interesting to note that it's a variation of what Bern presents in ep8.
Bern, the collectiveness of mystery fans, create their own variation of the gameboard which is solved by Tohya who looks down on the work as a poor imitation.

Tea party 7 is not prime. Eva is dead. Everyone is dead. Kyrie is the most misrepresented character who will forever be seen as a bitch because of it.

She is the Mion of Higurashi without the reader seeing that Shion is the killer.

Yes, she died in fictional accounts.
Furthermore, two of those were written before the event took place. The rest were written by Tohya, who had her survive in EP3. She's the only character that was ever shown to survive in any gameboard.
She's mentioned as live in Ange's story in EP4.
Much of Ange's issues were her hatred for Eva.
In EP8 they're around together, precisely to show this connection.

Anyhow, people in Umineko's real world would know if Eva survived or not.

Even if the rosatrice thing is incorrect there's just too many good explanations for things in that video to just throw it away. Like George being an accomplice/killer in the game where Eva survives. When you rewatch the anime there are parts that make it so obvious, like the bit where battler says to george, "why aren't you crying? you can cry you know, people have died" and george has this incredibly obvious guilty expression.

>She's mentioned as live in Ange's story in EP4.
Irrelevant.

This might be too long to explain but the future of ep 4 does not exist. It's a story written by Tohya.
When Ange leaves Featherine in episode 6, forgot her human name, she tells her to stop using her in her story.

The future of ep 4 in a continuation of ep 3 which people think is the actual future events of Prime but it isn't.
There isn't actual proof that anyone other than Ange is alive.
The mystery fans NEVER refer to Eva in any way. They talk about her diary but never mention Eva ever being alive except for Episode 4.

Ep 1-2 were written by Beatrice which make her dead canonly. Ep 3-4 were fanfic continuation created by Tohya and ep 5-6 were further continuation but with the commulation and addition of mystery fans who were tired of Battler being incompetent and wanted a good detective mary sue.

After episode 4, Ange is more concerned with finding the truth than understanding why Eva was a bitch to her. There really is no mention of Eva outside of episode 4.

You know, something I find the most interesting is this.

The very first murder scene. There's a perfect spot of red herring right there. Especially in the sprites patch.

In the garage murder scene, there is extreme emphasis of showing that Shannon is covered up and you can't see her. So you obviously assume that Shannon is the most likely culprit since she is the one who is the most hidden of the group and the detective doesn't see her.
But then you have Nanjo checking on Rosa too.

It's a brilliant piece of red herring.
Put emphasis on an old detective trick, namely someone faking their death. while not showing it and get the actual killer to fake their own death in the anime shows that Ryukishi really wanted a catbox between Rosa and Shannon.

I find that pretty clever. It's a fake murder while being conscious of the cliche.

We don't really get a good look on her face.

I actually solved the question if her face was smashed or not so it's pointless to question it.

If Battler saw all the faces being smashed (meaning there would be no room to doubt that someone died, since there's a fucking hole in everyone's head) why did Battler question that the culprit might have played dead?

Why didn't Battler immediately get suspicious of the only person he didn't see?
It's for that reason that Rosa's death cannot be confirmed. Battler never properly checked if people faked their deaths.

It isn't.

Tohya could have just continued the story of what happened after ep 3 and continued from there.

There is no evidence that ep 4 is what happened in the real world.

Perfect example, Ange dies in ep 4.

Umineko is a linear branching story with Ange.
The post future of ep 5-6-8 are the true future events.

>So, EP 1-2 are less likely to be a good account on what happened in Rokkenjima Prime.
True. I'll agree to that. I still feel that the episodes were variation to what could happen on the island therefore Prime happened according to one of the gameboards for sure.

To me, what this death represents is that George gave his mother the pin number for the credit card.

As he died in her arms, he explained why he was so much of a shithead and that he caused the whole bullshit to happen and at the last moments of his life, he gave the pin number.

Weirdly enough, if the island blew up and all the gold was lost, how was Eva able to build an empire?
The answer is simple, George gave her the pin number and told her what it was about and she withdrew the 1 billion yen and used whatever capital she had from the family name and grew bigger from it.

I think it's the most logical explanation to how Eva got so wealthy when everyone died other than her just taking whatever money Krauss left for her.

There are things about that game that are pretty hard to explain. Like how the killer managed to kill hideoshi, rudolph and kyrie when they all had guns. I was thinking that maybe during this part rudolph decided fuck it, we may die here so I may as well tell her the truth about battler and they get into a heated argument, allowing the killer to get the drop on them despite the fact they had guns. That would explain the magic perspective of them fighting with the stakes, I think. From what I remember the rosatrice guy kind of glosses over this part. Of course, the shkanontrice theory account is totally incomprehensible garbage as usual.

Tohya claiming he cannot remember Battler is bullshit.

It's his cover up for being the murder mastermind.

If you simply must ascribe to a "Shannon is Beatrice" theory then go with Shanontrice, not Shkanontrice. Shkanontrice is just retarded on so many levels.

This is the first time I read such a comment.
Episode 6 is like the embodiment of Ryukishi being prolix as fuck, how can you say it was decent?
Episode 7 was average, it has both good and retarded scenes.

Yasu is Shanon and thinks she is Kanon also. Kanon is actually just a regular dude from the orphanage who has a bit of a sister complex for Yasu/Shanon but that's about it.

The Kanon in Yasu/Shanon's head is just another personality, separate from real life regular ass gardener Kanon.
