I feel like my mental stability is slowly declining as the months (and years) pass. I'm 24 now and I've never been more of a recluse before. At work (not sure how I still work, because it's a very crowded work place and I dread the thought of going in every day) I get very paranoid, have bad anxiety, can barely make eye contact or hold conversations with people, and I'm very very self-conscious sometimes. 4-5 years ago I had none of these problems. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any supplements or medications that would work in these circumstances? Or meditations/ music/ lifestyle changes? Any personal experience?

I also feel like I can't make eye contact because I don't know what to do when it's made. Do I smile? Growl? My normal reaction is just to look away, but I have a feeling I'm coming off as a creep by doing this... I just have no idea... 0 social skills to top off my paranoia and anxiety... And this is making me very depressed.

I have asked for advice here in the past about these circumstances but it never really went anywhere. Most people just told me to change my thinking and stop caring about others - I wish that was as easily done as it is said...

Sleep deprived most nights - I start work at 6am daily but have a 45 minute commute, I'm up about 4:30 most mornings. Due to financial reasons I'm forced to live with my family, who despite me pleading for a few years, can't shut up in the evening. I'll toss and turn for 30 minutes easily before I can fall asleep (and that's when I'm tired) so factor noise in and you have me lying in my bed for a number of hours or just giving up and staying up...

Yes I watch loads of tv shows on my computer.

Yes to smiling, it will make you seem more approachable, as long as it's not a forced/creepy smile.

As for social interaction, fake it till you make it. Force yourself to do some small chit chat, smile, try to appear cheerful, after enough repetition this attitude come naturally to you and you will just act instead of getting paranoid about what other people are thinking about you.
