I need help identifying an insect bite the my grandmother got on her arm. Pic related. It's pretty nasty. She got it while she was visiting us here in Houston, Texas. I believe she noticed it on the 24th because they left the day after and she didn't tell us until then.
My suspicion is that it was a Brown Recluse/Violin Spider (dunno what your region calls it). The hospital they're at in Mexico gave her some antibiotics, but they're not working, and we're worried they'll have to amputate her arm. I'm sorry, I must sound really silly. I'm really worried. Please help us, /an/. I'll be asking on other boards, as well, seeing as this one is a bit slower than the other ones.
Thank you for all of your help in advance.

My dog can preform a mid air frisbee catch into water, but the name of the trick has not been made yet. I'm not feeling that creative right now, and was wondering if you guys and gals could come up with a name for it, jump catch splash, and amazing frisbee catch are what I have some of the videos named but they suck and i'm stupid, they are not generating any views cause people cant search for them. Help Please https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ3ligabxz8

Hi /an/, first time here, and I feel this is the right place to ask.
So I've been thinking about getting a dog, a Corgi specifically. And was wondering what their price range is to buy pure bred one? Pic related.
I would adopt aswell, I'd love to rescue one, but I want one of my own to raise from puppy to adult.
Animal Ignorance Thread

Why is it that the more ignorant someone is, the more opinions they have? I asked a few of my friends the old 'point out the APBTs' quiz, not a single one of them got it right. Yet they buy into the hype that pit bulls are baby killers (pic related, a friend's answers as to which ones were the APBTs. Another friend said they were all APBTs excluding the English Bull Terrier)
Don't get me wrong, I don't only see it with dogs. I have heard people say there are only about 10 cat breeds, and fucking stand by their beliefs after being shown they are wrong. They only recognize breeds like munchkins, persians, and siamese. Or on the other spectrum, that every cat is made up of pure breds, or that 'tabby' and 'calico' are breeds.
I feel as though horses and fish get the worst of it, the former needing very proper care which it doesn't always get just to be healthy (and often bred in such a way it will never be healthy), the latter often so neglected and abused they don't even live a fraction of their normal lifespan most of the time.
I guess I never understood how ignorant the average person is about animals until I was forced to talk to the public about animals. Examples of animal ignorance general?

People who treat small dogs in strange and awkward ways are the worst. They take the term "toy" breed too seriously. It's still an animal, a dog, not some accessory.
I know a lot of people with Yorkies, Toy Poodles, Chi's, etc treat them in ways they would never treat a dog that was 20 or 30 pounds heavier.
My aunt in particular likes Yorkshire Terriers. She wants one eventually and I just groan at the thought. She outright has said she'd probably carry it around a lot and I can't see her being a proper owner at all. She'd most likely even buy from a store,
