ants

What do you think of ants, /an/? Do you mind killing them to make anthill art? Have you been bitten by them? I used to live in Venezuela where we had these fuckhuge ants with MASSIVE jaws, and I remember one of them biting my thumb so hard that it pierced the skin and bled profusely. Now, I could be exaggerating about their size because I was so little, but these fuckers were huge. I personally don't give a shit about killing a colony of ants to make anthill art, because they're fucking insects. There's plenty of them around. (search anthill art on youtube if you don't know what it means) And fire ants can go extinct for all I care.

So someone drooped some Xylitol gums in the fucking yard for the dog to eat in hopes of poisoning him... He usually barks really loudly at some people who walk by. I live in a small city and today i found gum in my yard and I was like what the fuck. So I googled around and well turns out Xylitol in like 5 grams kills any dog. Without a trace too... The fuck are other things I should watch out for?

Hey, /an/ looking for some advice for my new bun. This is Angel. Some rotten bastard left her out in the woods to die and I took her in. She's pretty swell. Overall, I have very few complaints about her. She can be very sweet and is very soft and fun to play with. But. Her behavior seems all over the place. she gets regular exercise, letting her out of her cage to run around with me in the house. Sometimes, she'll be as sweet as can be, circuiting my legs, jumping up on me, and general cuteascanbeness. Other days it seems like she wants nothing to do with me. She'll run and hide as soon as I let her out, jump and twitch away when I go to touch her, and basically act like she doesn't want me around. Is this normal? She's my first rabbit. I do not believe she is spayed (I'm taking care of it shortly) and she doesn't seem to be in pain. As far as I can tell, the days she likes me and the days she doesn't are sporadic and random. halp plz

Are these fuckers really that common? I know someone in my neighborhood that travels a lot and he's currently treating his home for them. Also, >pic related looks gross. why would someone willingly let these pests eat them!?

Is there any valid reason for somebody not to neuter his/her cat which is allowed to go outside?

Which rabbits make the best house pets? When I was in middle school, a friend and I raised rabbits with 4H for several years. I'm pretty experienced in caring for rabbits, but they lived in hutches in her barn and rarely came indoors. I'm considering getting a house rabbit in the next year or so. I teach fifth grade at a small private school (average class size is around ten kids), and I'm thinking it could be a sort of "visiting class pet" who could come in a few times a week for a few periods. I've read a lot about the benefits of having pets that children can read to, and I think a mild-mannered rabbit might be the best bet for my situation. At home I have a small terrier mix and a cat- I've tested both around rabbits and while I certainly won't be leaving them unsupervised with the rabbit, they haven't shown any predatory behaviors with the rabbits they met. I have space for a large cage- both at home and in the classroom- and know that I'll be able to provide for the rabbits dietary and instinctual needs. I will probably get a male, and will definitely have it neutered. The question is- what type should I go with? I remember loving the Dutch rabbits we raised when I was a kid, and I've always been really attracted to Rex rabbits. I'm also curious about Flemish Giants- both for the novelty of such an unusual animal and because I think a larger rabbit will do better in a classroom full of kids. TL:DR What's the mellowest, sturdiest, happy-go-lucky breed of house-trainable rabbit?

petland is a franchise that is synonymous for supporting the continued use of puppy mills for their business. I was looking to get a specific breed of dog and they are the only ones near by who can provide that service. however I hear everyone say >oh they'll have kennel cough >oh they'll be antisocial >oh they'll have (insert health issues here) but here's a question, if the company has this reputation for selling shitty dogs, how are they still in business? Wouldn't word get around that Petland doesn't give a shit about their dogs? especially since people are paying for a specific breed. I'd be super pissed if I payed that money for a certain dog, it had major issues and was generally bad.

Found this little guy floating around in a pond filter earlier, not too sure what he is or what he feeds on. Britfag, newfag, yadda yadda. Closest I can find is small tortoiseshell butterfly. Any idea?

This girl I recently started dating flipped a whole heaping mountain of proverbial shit at me today because—after a rainstorm—I picked up an earthworm off the sidewalk and put it back onto grass. Apparently it was an utterly revolting thing to do with my bare hands, so I dropped her nearly immediately afterwards. Does your significant other get bothered by any of your pro-animal habits?

Hug a falcon

People always misunderstand falcons. They think falcons are ferocious birds that only want to kill and screech. But no, falcons are quite friendly creatures! They just want to hug you and be hugged, but they have sharp beaks and huge talons, so they can't. Falcons only want to be your friends! They aren't the vicious killing machines that humans make them out to be, they're lovely creatures and should be treated with respect.
