So I have 2 axolotls that are about 7-9 months old now, and my leucistic one has had a swollen cochlea area for about two weeks. Its still eating and pooping and acting cheerful, but im a bit concerned.
Is this something to do with its sex? My wildtype is about the same age and shows no signs of swelling.
They both eat canadian crawlers, red worms, and the occasional wax worm. They share a 20 gallon long tank that is kept at about 69F, and is well maintained.
Here is a pic of the swollen one, I didnt want to squeeze it so I couldn't get a very focused picture, Ive outlined the general shape.
Any tips from other axolotl owners?

Hey 4chan, our dog was hit by a car yesterday and after going to an emergency vet we found out that she will need either an amputation or a bone fusion surgery, the main problem is that after all the medical bills we cannot afford to get it for her, so we started a gofundme to hopefully raise enough for her surgery, if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm not expecting much if anything from my experience with 4chan, but we desperately need help so I'm reaching out. Thank you all if you can help.
