Saltwater aquarium thread?
General discussion about experiences with saltwater tanks and the like.
I'm pretty new to the scene, had freshwater for a while before but I wanted to try something new
Definitely more expensive but so far it hasn't been that bad, had the diatom bloom and then added two black and white clarkii, four chromis and five mollies that I acclimatised to salt water over a week to try sort out my hair algae problem
Btw these were all added slowly, not all at once.
Wondering if anyone has any tips on sucking up poo off of the sand without disturbing the sand and without removing the water? I take quite a while to get all the poo and usually take out too much water for a water change so I'm looking for something different...
Maybe something that sucks water(and therefore poo) up, catches the poo and then dumps the water back in?
Probably should look into setting up a quarantine tank but it may be too late, i've notice two tiny little white spots on a clarkii and another two on a chromis, but they've been there a week so I'm thinking it isn't marine ich...

Hello, /an/. I have a few questions. I tried googling it, but I didn't exactly get any answers, so I decided to ask you.
I figured that my cat probably has worms, because I saw some about 5mm long white moving "worms" next to his butt. I went and bought Zantel, but one veterinarian said that I have to only give him a half (he's about 5kg) every 3 months and that's it, but another one (that was when my cat had worms some moths ago) said that I have to give it to him like this: half today, half tomorrow and half in a week.
I'm not sure what to do now?
But I have a bigger concern, and it's about flea treatment. The second veterinarian said that the cat got worms from fleas and that I have to get rid of them by giving him Stronghold every month (because Frontline doesn't seem to work).
Now here's the question: how harmful is it to the cat to give him this "flea poison" every month? I can't imagine it doesn't have any negative effects of the cat if it's poisonous enough to kill all fleas for 1 month?
I asked the vet for alternative options, since the cat rarely goes outside (I sometimes take him out on a leash), but he said that fleas reside everywhere outside and as soon as the cat passes them, they jump on, get inside the house and soon start reproducing because it's warm. Or that humans can bring them in house anytime.
He said the only option is to give him a flea prevention pipette every month.
Tl;dr: how poisonous are flea preventing products such as frontline, stonghold, etc. for the cat if you give it to him every month? Also are there any other options to protect cats from fleas and also protecting them from worms?
