This year for Christmas, Santa gave me a dead cat. Guess I was on the naughty list?
Pic related, it isn't mine but it looks close. We were literallly in the middle of opening presents and I had just been petting my little dude. He goes to jump off the couch and kinda falls on his face, then he gets some kind of attack and he starts panting real bad. He can barely walk and after a minute he just lays down panting with his mouth open. We took him to the emergency vet and he sort of recovered but when they had him in the cage he was really angry and couldn't stop drooling. Wouldn't even let us pet him, didn't try to hide in the corner like he usually does.
We decided to euthanize him, he was 18 years old I think, and he'd been having medical issues for a while, he was all skin and bones even with the treatments he was getting for thyroid n stuff. I really didn't want to euthanize him but my family was all gung-ho after he had his attack (I feel like it was some kind of stroke or seizure?)... they didn't want to see him go through that again. In the end I went with my inner autistic/sociopath tendencies and let them do him in because in many ways it was the easy way out.
I didn't like the little guy very much, he was a pretty dumb cat. I'm real close friends with my other cat so trust me when I say the cat that died was dumb. I didn't think I'd miss the little fucker very much but goddamn it if he wasn't the fluffiest little cat I've ever met back when he was in his prime, before his fur got matted and we had to shave a lot of it off. I'm petting my other cat and all I can think about is how he isn't fluffy like the dead one :(
Anyway how were y'all's Christmas? Santa's truly a miracle worker, I think he just about timed it that they euthanized my kitty as the clock struck midnight. Anyone else lose a pet on a holiday? Birthday maybe?

Hey /an/, I rescued this Kitten from behind a cafe late at night while taking an alternate route to my friends house (I was staying the night) It was cold and we were coming home from playing a couple games of Basketball at the local YMCA, rain was sprinkling and we heard her scratchy meow and decided to look for her, we found her (Obviously.) and to a surprise, her mom (or what I assume was her mom) was dead! I felt really bad and I didn't wanna leave her there, so we scooped her up and carried her to his house where we winged her. I decided on a name, Tokyo, and took her home the next day, she's been with me since, she's very playful, but a little rough and bites, any advice on getting her out of that? I know the basics, she has a litter box and is trained to use it, I give her fresh water everyday and she eats dry kitten food (not cat) when we found her she was very small and she's gotten bigger, I'm assuming her to be around 1 and a half months old. (I got her last month) Anybody know what breed she is?

I'm tired /an/
You seem to be the only board that gives a damn about animals, so I come to you in my hour of need. I've been trying to expose a zoophile veterinarian for the past ten months. Through manipulation, he's admitted to me via private messages that he's responsible for the molestation of chickens and cockatoos, but on the more serious side, a bald eagle as well. I've tried over and over and over again to get in contact with his former and current employers, but my searches have turned up nothing. I don't know of any veterinary ethics boards to speak of, and my boss (also an avian veterinarian, my boss used to know him) doesn't know what I should do either. I'm at the end of my rope, but I know I need to ruin his life and career by exposing him as the animal abuser and all around pervert that he is. If any of you have any suggestions on who I should contact, please help me out. If nothing else, wish me luck, and please offer some words of encouragement.
