Introducing Fish to a Stream

Las Vegas is a place that's not exactly known for its nature. However, today I found something odd. In the middle of nowhere I found a little park with lots of huge trees. I checked the place out, and found something amazing! Right alongside it, extending from an empty lot, was a stream. Not runoff, but an actual stream. Mossy rocks, water insects, mini waterfalls, reeds, and all. It had big birch trees growing along it, and there was more wildlife (birds, rabbits, chipmunks, etc) around there than usual. My question is, could I introduce fish to it? There's no way they could get there by normal means, but maybe if I picked a small and hardy species fish then it could thrive? Ants fell in the water quite a bit, and aquatic plants were present. If I were to do this, what sort of fish should I get? >tl;dr I want to introduce fish into a stream, should I do it? >pic related, but the one I found is much greener and much more habitable

Hey /an/ I used to have a corn snake, it's back at my parents house with my brother, and I want another snake. I found a woman on craigslist selling an adult king snake with his tank and heating pad for $50. I asked her if he's handled offten and she said not as much as she used to and he doesn't strike but he rattles his tail some and musks at times. So any reasons I should be skeptical? I wouldn't consider myself an experienced snake owner but I did always take good care of our corn snake. I shouldn't have a problem right? Pic related - that's the snake. any feedback would be nice.

Snail farming general

Good day, /an/ons! I've recently become interested in farming snails for mealtimes and the joy of raising the little shits. Y'all seem to be the people to go to about such matters, so, I posit the following questions: -What breeds are best to raise? -What feed should I use to make them tasty and large? -How should I set up my farm? What set-ups are there for both indoor and outdoor farming? -What should I keep in mind environmentally to keep them comfy? -What kinds of yields can I expect? How much time does a crop take to reach maturity? Derived from /ck/, which is to deal with the cooking side of the house. Stop by and join the conversation if you know anything about cooking the little bastards ( >>>/ck/4808836 ) Bumping with cute snails

Hello /an/ I come here to seek your knowledge. So I work deep in the bush of Quebec, and today while going to check for our water system, I stumbled upon this set of tracks. My question is, is this canine or feline ? I work in the wildlife field but this lacks to my knowledge. I'm curious because exactly last week, my coworker went at this exact place with her german shepherd, so I have my doubts. There was (another) set of tracks which was ALOT pointier with appearant claws, which I associated to the dog. So I don't know I'm confused. I really want to know because people keep repirting seeing cougars in the area and I'm really interrested. Pic related, the suspicious track. So yeah, will post more pictures.

/an/ A possum crawled into the culvert underneath my driveway and died. How do I get it out? Tried a shovel, but had no luck.

Does anyone have any experience with partial tail amputation in reptiles? My mangrove monitor managed to mash the end of his tail up over the weekend and it's gone necrotic. I've gotten an appointment tomorrow afternoon to have him examined and I'm assuming have a few inches of his tail removed. I'm wondering what I should expect in terms of how long it'll take him to heal-up and ow much the bill might run. Pic semi-related; I'd rather not take any photos of the poor old boy in his current wounded state.

Hey /an/, I recently picked it a baby red-ear slider turtle from a neglectful owner. I got it checked out, and was wondering if any of you guys had knowledge on what I need to properly take care of it and make it friendly. I have nothing really and I'm planning to go out and buy stuff this week. pic unrelated

Hi /an/. I have a dog with hip dysplasia and usually it's almost as if she doesn't even have it if we give her the medicine and try not to overexert her. I only mention this because I have no other clue as to why she would be lying on my floor, depressed, unwilling to move. She doesn't even spend much time in my bedroom. Now, she won't even leave it to eat dinner. I'm so upset, she's usually such a happy dog. We gave her one of her doggy painkillers because we thought maybe her hip was acting up. The only other change I can think of is that we recently got a security system installed in my house. The console in the kitchen beeps every time you open a door. What do you think is wrong with her, /an/?

>have 7 month old lab mix >has been well-mannered from the start >well-trained, well potty trained. >let him out very frequently. he always waits at the door when he has to go. he knows how to hold it. >usually spend several hours with him and play with him. Lately, for the past week or 2, he has been peeing and pooping, every time I leave the house. I could have JUST let him out (for a long time) and he will still do it. I could be gone for 5 minutes, and he will pee/poop (it's usually pee, though). He does it EVERY time, now. He was chewing stuff up, too. (blinds, pillows, shoes, etc). He has plenty of toys and bones, and he isn't teething anymore. I have had him in his own room (for when I have to leave the house) for months. I don't know what the issue is. key notes >he isn't fixed yet. He will be soon >my girlfriend miscarried 2-3 weeks ago, so I haven't been spending as much time or attention with him. >if I leave him free to roam the house, he won't pee or poop, though he MIGHT chew something (normal, I suppose). What do I do? And what am I doing wrong? I know I shouldn't really be popping him/spanking him, but I don't even know what to do anymore. I have had so much going on that I am just exhausted and defeated. He won't cooperate with me. I have spanked him probably 10 times in the last 36 hours. I hate doing it.

Hey /an/ just wondering if you could help me, my 6-7month old Pit has been scratching herself a lot lately (last month or so). I took her to the vet, he said it might be something on the food so I started feeding her the food he recommended (which he sells and is way more expensive) but situation remains. Some minutes ago I noticed these marks on her. Also, tests for any kind of parasite have been done and she's completely clean and healthy, got all her vaccines done and regular checkups, it's just this thingy which apparently no one knows what it is for sure. Any halp would be appreciated.

Thinking about buying and caring for a kitten, but im worried about expenses on cant food and litter, is it really that hard to take care of a kitten? I mean it's already small, will it be hard to take care of? Or will it be the annoying cat stereotype the internet likes to use?

OP back and shamelessly bumping my own thread again, since none of my earlier questions or concerns were addressed. But also because I have a couple new questions (I'm researching on my own end as well, not just coming to /an/ ) When receiving the puppy, stay mostly indoors? I've heard they can pick up illness outside romping around. I read something along the lines of, introduce your puppy to 100 people/pets in the first 8 weeks? that seems excessive to say the least.

I got my puppy around last week. I took her to the vet last Friday for her first shot and also for deworming. The deworming was through a syringe that the vet fed some medicine through my pups mouth. Now, I have to go back next week for her second dosage. Here's the thing. My pup is super cute and I've kissed her in the mouth. I also pick up her feces. As of now I haven't noticed any "worms" in her stool. I'm concerned that the medicine is not working and having had kiss her, I might have been contaminated with worms??
