I just gave my cat a listerine strip, and now he is running around drooling, shaking his head, and opening and closing his mouth as to chew. I'm really worried, he is salivating a lot and acting insane. Should I take him to a Vet? Before you ask, I joking offered him one, I didn't think he would just start eating it. They aren't poisonous to people... but I'm not sure what a single strip could do to a cat.

So I hear they have closed the National Aquarium in DC for good. Has anyone else but me been gullible enough to pay money to get into that absolute horrible ripoff? I didn't know that it was all on one floor in the basement of the Commerce Department before I paid my money to get in. I swear to God, as you walked in there were round porthole like holes cut in the walls with TV monitors on the other side playing videos of sharks. The actual displays were something like you could see at a high end tropical fish store. One of the tanks at the rain forest exhibit of the National Zoo had twenty times more water in it than the entire Aquarium. There was one hallway that went in a straight line, turned right and came straight back. That's about 1/4 the size of one wing of the Baltimore National Aquarium. Good riddans to that shitty tourist trap.

Help me solve a mystery /an/ Years ago, in my old high school bio- class, we were given silkworms to raise. I was very careful with mine. I kept their mulberry leaves fresh each day. Always washed my hands before handling them. They seemed to grow normal, and got very big and fat. However, when it was time for them to go into their cocoons....something horrible started happening to them. One spun it's cocoon just fine, but the other two did not. One of them got sickly yellow, and kind of spewed out all of it's silk everywhere, then shriveled and died. The other disintegrated. Just turned to jelly. The one that spun it's cocoon never came out again. I assumed it died in there. To this day, I still don't know what I did wrong. It haunts me. what the hell happened?

I gave my dog the edges of a hot fried egg and it immediately vomited. Also, the vomitus was red. Any idea why that happened?

first time posting here, hello all normally for this problem i would go to the vet, but the last time i did, they ripped me off for everything i have and didn't help me at all. my dog has had a horrible cough for the past 2-3 years. i've been able to suppress it with some steroid medicine that the vet always prescribes her with, but it's very bad for dogs to stay on steroids long term. i've looked up and down the internet and haven't found an answer. she had her heart and lungs x-rayed two years ago and she looked very healthy, and every time they listen to her heart and lungs, they say it sounds healthy. so that rules out any problems with her heart and lungs i think. kennel cough goes away on its own after a couple weeks, so it can't be that either. i started giving her some benadryl because she also started sneezing/snoring. well the sneezing and snoring went away but the cough is still there. the cough gets worse with exercise/excitement. also she is a border collie, not a toy breed dog with tracheal collapse or any other things toy breeds are prone to. tl;dr, anyone ever have problems with a coughing dog before?

Hey /an/ I was wondering if you might be able to help me guess the age of my two female leopard geckos Cleopatra and Athena (the bigger of the two is Athena). I recently was given them by a friend but I forgot to ask how long he had had them/how old they were when he got them. Any help is appreciated.

Hey /an/, I found an injured bird yesterday. I picked it up and carried it to safety. I really enjoyed holding it and helping it and would like to own a small bird. I don't know what kind I want because I don't know that much about birds. I thought it would be best if I asked on here for information on what the best bird would be for me. I would like to be able to take it out of it's cage and be able to play with it.

Evening /an/ For the past couple weeks, I've noticed this little thing on my cat's mouth. It looks like a little green bean seed that's attached itself to the gum. I can't him him to be still enough to try and pull it off, and maybe I shouldn't. It doesn't seem like it bothers him. Should I be concerned of this? Is it some type of parasite? Pictures incoming.

I have a kitten. He's ALWAYS had a strange personality, since day one. One moment he may love being petted, then he may freak out and try to bite you. A few days ago, he got out. I tried all day long to catch him- but couldn't. He wanted to stay outside. He stayed there for two days, and then just... Came back in. Since then, his attitude has been a lot worse. He bites more, he scratches more, and runs around acting crazy- well, more than he used to. Since he's just now reaching the age to get his rabies shot, he hadn't previously had it. That's what worries me, as recently a friend who lives down the street said she saw a raccoon wandering around her backyard in broad baylight. She's maybe a 20 minute walk from my place. I just want to know- am I being TOTALLY paranoid and far-fetched in fearing that my kitten may have rabies? Is he just acting crazy now because he's been outside and wants to be back out there again? He keeps trying to get back out. Every time we open the door. For a raccoon to walk twenty minutes and just happen to show up at my house seems... Far fetched. But he's acting so strange and aggressive. He bit my grandmother tonight, though she says he was "just playing". Right now, he's fine. But in a minute, he might freak out and bite me for "petting him wrong" or picking him up when he doesn't want to be held. My grandmother won't go to the doctor for her bites or take me to one for mine, because she thinks he's fine and doesn't have rabies at all. (I'm a poor college student and just turned 18, so no money for me.) Any insight? If you don't think he was exposed to rabies (there are no bite wounds, but I've read that rabies can be spread through saliva entering a mucous membrane), then what do you think may be wrong? Maybe he's just wild with wanting to be outside? I'm finally getting him his shots Thursday, but until then, I'm forever paranoid until someone tells me whether or not I should be worried. Lmao.
