How long does it take for an animal to decompose? There's squirrels where I live so that's a new experience for me, so for the last year I've watched them scurry around the trees outside my house. Today I woke up to see a neighborhood cat had killed one and was eating it.
I don't want to say I'm a "collector", because that makes me sound like a psychopath, but over the years I've acquired a few animal skulls. My mom gave me a cat one, and a preserved shark head. I found a cow skull on the beach that I got professionally cleaned. Anyway, the cat had detached the squirrel's head, so I buried it as deep as I could, not that deep because I hit cement, but I put some rocks on top to keep bigger animals out. I'll monitor it for the next few weeks, but how long will it take for the head to revert itself to just bone through decomposition? My lease is up in June, will that be enough time? It gets pretty wet here so I'm hoping that will help speed things along.

Alright /an/, I need a little bit of advice.
In recent years, my neighborhood has developed a problem with outdoor and feral cats. People let their unaltered kitties outside, they got sum fuk, feral kittens happened, all that. The feral cats have been breeding like crazy.
My cats really enjoy the porch. They are indoor cats. One is a fifteen year old declawed (my parents' decision, not mine) female, the other is a less than a year old disabled runt.
Late last year, a stray/outdoor/feral actually ripped my porch screen trying to get to my older cat. She ran out of the hole and chased the big guy away like a boss. Now, though, she can't even pretend to fight, and is scared of the ferals. Her eyesight is going, and I think her hearing is, too.
As for the disabled kitty, she's a pacifist, not territorial in the least.
So I was just out on my porch with the young disabled kitty, and I see a young feral tabby walk by. She looked directly at me, the bold motherfucker knew I was there. Then she saw my kitty watching her, charged at her, jumped and clung to the screen. My kitty bolted inside while I spoke loudly and scared this feral away.
I don't want to kill cats, but what can I do about this? My cats should be safe on my own damn property, and the property itself shouldn't be damaged. Is there a number I can call to report nuisance ferals, things I can do to repel them from my yard, anything along those lines?
>ferals damaging property and frightening my indoor cats
>need to keep ferals away from the porch

Me and my father have fallen on bad times, we're both struggling to find work and have to move from where we currently are.
The problem has now fallen on the fact that the only place we can afford, a place that would give us the best chance of finding work while living off of his unemployment (I can only find temp work right now) does not allow pets.
Placed in a situation where no friends or family can take our ten year old dog, he is more than likely taking her to the animal welfare league where she will be put to sleep.
I have very little power over any of this, and have exhausted everything I can do in trying to prevent this. I come to /an/ for any advice on preventing this from happening.
She is in fine health, no major sickness, the only thing being the obvious signs of age that would come from being as old as she is. Is there anything I can do?

Looking for recommendations.
I've lived rural my whole life, and have been raised and never owned anything that wasn't a retriever or a pointer. I absolutely love sporting dogs. Two favorite breeds are far and away the Chesapeake Bay Retriever and the German Shorthair.
The only problem now is that I'm working on college and shit that I live in an apartment. It's not that big, but I have a lot of outdoor area around me and a lot of parks, so accessing running room is not an issue, but it wouldn't be available unless I was there.
So, knowing that I have an affinity for those kinds of dogs, which breed do you think would be a good apartment dog I could take camping in the weekends?

How to deal with misbehaving dogs? I give mine plenty of walks and attention. He just likes to steal stuff out of my room and hide it, mainly clothes and cd cases and/or my mp3 player, my partner thinks he is just eccentric but it is not her stuff that he is taking out of our room, just my stuff! argh.
Now this situation isn't exactly life shattering or destructive to my stuff, more of a really out of hand annoyance, i've never hit him for punishment, only timeouts in the shower(water not turned on just to let him sit in there with the shower door closed) i gave him a really long timeout the last time and was even a bit more firm with him when taking him in there and left him there for a few hours.
Doesn't seem to work, do i really need to hit him over this? Any ideas?
pic somewhat related(those not my dogs, don't have a pic of my dog on this, have a 9 year old Siberian husky)

What the fuck is wrong with my dog?
He's suddenly come down with really mushy poo, his asshole is really pink (it used to be just... normal?) and he just pissed while laying down. He's not completely house trained, but he'll fucking get up when he needs to pee, not just lay there and whizz and continue to lay in it like nothing ever happened. Now I feel scared to leave him in his kennel over night, I dont want him sleeping in his own filth.
I'm scheduling an appointment as soon as I can call in the morning, but does anyone have any idea what is going on?

I found this bird trapped inside a Barnes and Noble. We were able to catch her (him? who knows but it seemed like a girl to me) when she smacked into a window and was stunned for a moment.
We took her outside and sat with her and she was just kinda frozen for a bit. Then we set her down near some bushes and after a second she flew into the bushes. I hope she was ok.
Anyways, I got a couple pictures of her and I tried to find what kind of bird she is by looking at bird ID tools I found on google, but either I suck at it and am answering the questions wrong, or the bird just isn't in the databases. So I come to you, /an/, to ask if anyone here knows what kind of bird this is.
