hey guys I have a bit of a problem.
About 2 months ago I purchased my first two snakes at an expo and I also bought a pvc cage with a divider as my cage, they were having a sale for 50% off so I said "fuck it" and bought it. Asked them about electrical tape and they said the don't have any at the expo. SO I asked them about under tank heaters like Zoomeds and exo terras heat mats, if they would be safe. They told me that as long as I attach it to a digital thermostat and control its temperature, I should be okay.
So I bought a heat pad and placed it under the tank and lifted it off the ground so I had some airflow. Things were great for a while, I checked the temp every day with a handheld temp gun and watched the digital thermostat. However, yesterday as i was going to bed, I came in to do some water changes and i noticed the heat mat had fallen onto the floor, I do not know how long it was there for; i was at work for 10 hours that day so it could have been any time. My poor king snakes were cold to the touch and i scrambled to find the heat mat back onto the bottom of the tank. The PVC cage was not warped underneath but the zoomed heat pads refuses to stuck back onto the underside, it keeps falling off and I used electrical tape to stick it back on....alot of tape to keep it from falling.
I am not sure what to do, Nobody sells heat tape where I live, no pet stores, not Home depot, nor does Lowe's. I have checked out a few pet stores online that are a reasonable 1 hour away or so and nobody seems to carry it.
any suggestions on stores that may carry it? If I cannot get heat tape, from a store, should I order it or wait for the next expo in November? will Exo terra's Thinner, Lighter design work better if i run out of options? any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I'm older and I can afford a mortgage on a house or flat, I'll have member of immediate family live there while I'm at work.
I'v always wanted a dog and won't compromise for a cat as they aren't as loving and loyal as dogs.
I want a smart dog that will be obedient and not at all vocal if possible. I know that the chain of smart dog breeds that I like go's
I like Corgis too but they aren't too good at commands or intelligence. I'd like only one dog as I don't think my family could cope with two or more, plus, I'd prefer one ultra loyal than two not so.
My main dilemma is; are Collies too active for my lifestyle but I'd really like one.
Also, which out of the other two I have mentioned above are smarter, more obedient and easier to care for and not forgetting, loyal?
Penny for your thoughts, /an/?

I recently (last Monday, the 21st) had my dog put to sleep because he had terminal cancer.
According to my father (who was not involved in any of this because he was too afraid/scared of the emotional aspects, it was basically me and my mother who were taking care of him), we put him to sleep "too early" and that "he was fine and could have lived for weeks more".
I'd like to know if we made the right decision.
Situation/context to follow, it's kind of a tl;dr
Pic related, it's my dog

Hello /an/ I need opinions.
I'm in the market for a bird, in the past, I have owned a cockatiel, who I got when he was a bit older as far as 'tiels go and he passed away about a year ago.
I have money, time, experience with other breeds, and the contacts of reputable breeders. So, here's my question. Now that I'm ready to get another bird;
Do I get another Cockatiel, or do I get a Parrotlet?

No fighting about anything please.
