[Missing image file: bird.jpg]

I found this bird trapped inside a Barnes and Noble. We were able to catch her (him? who knows but it seemed like a girl to me) when she smacked into a window and was stunned for a moment.

We took her outside and sat with her and she was just kinda frozen for a bit. Then we set her down near some bushes and after a second she flew into the bushes. I hope she was ok.

Anyways, I got a couple pictures of her and I tried to find what kind of bird she is by looking at bird ID tools I found on google, but either I suck at it and am answering the questions wrong, or the bird just isn't in the databases. So I come to you, /an/, to ask if anyone here knows what kind of bird this is.

Additional info: I live in northern Alabama (US.)

inb4 "brown recluse"

If it/she flew away into the bushes and was able to calm down/not die of shock, it should be OK. You did a good thing, OP.

On what kind of bird it is, I'm not from the US so I'm not familiar.. but a bit of searching around makes me think it might be a Yellow-breasted Chat, moulting into its adult plumage.

Pic is one of a juvenile that I got from another site.

Thanks, guys.

I think this is probably right. Looking at the pictures of common yellowthroats on google, I'd say it looked most like either an immature male or a female one.

Have a couple more pics! Whatever kind of bird it was, it was cute and I'm glad we were able to catch him/her to get him/her back outside. :)

>we set her down near some bushes and after a second she flew into the bushes

Reclusive behavior, typical for a yellow-throated brown recluse.
