Dear lolitas of /cgl/,
I regret to inform you that I am a tall girl (170cm) and wishing to finally purchase some lolita. I am quite afraid though, that I would be quite too tall for most brands. The girls of Innocent world seem to be short asses, with the skirts barely managing to cover their knees. For the reason of modesty, I am most interested in longer length JSK's but am a little unsure of which brands I should very much keep my long legged, long torso frame away from. Any advice for tall girls?
Your derpy friend always,
Naga Kinetic Tail

Hey guys! I was hoping to bounce some ideas around, as I'm stuck on a costume.
I'm doing an animatronic tail that can move side-to-side, as seen in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxAl2NGOZQI&feature=related .
The tail is made by a bunch of snake-like sections attached down the center on top and bottom with a cord threaded down one side and up the other. However, the foam doesn't really want to hold any form of loop for the rope to run through. I tried gluing rubber circles to the sides for these tracks, but they come off too easily. I haven't gotten my hands on barge yet- I'm using a mixture of hot glue, sewing with duct-tape enforced edges, and a spray adhesive right now. I also tried threading the rope through the sections, but there's too much tension and I can't get the rope to contract the entire length of the tail. I was thinking about drilling holes and covering them with plastic inside somehow, but I'd need some pretty long/wide holes. Any ideas?

I'm quitte new to lolita and already own a few bodyline pieces, but I've wanted to start buying brand for a long time, but I'm still a bit young and don't have a fulltime job yet so I never actually thought of saving for a brand piece because it's alot of money for me. But when I saw the first promo pictures of Toy March I instantly fell in love with that dress, everything about the print is just so cute and lovely. I could already see myself being all dolly in it. So I decided I really wanted to save for it. But now everything I wanted is already sold out ;n;
I have never purchased anything from a brand site or store before and I don't have a lj account so maybe I'm just missing something, but how is everyone purchasing it so quick? I mean, it's like less than a week that I saw it appearing on the english site, and everything is already sold out.
I feel a bit dumb now but I have some questions.. Did a lot of people buy it before it appeared in the english store? Now that it's sold out on the site, will I still be able to get it without having to pay the dubble amount on the comm_sales? Do you actually save for a dress or is it just luck that you have the amount of money for a dress at the time so you can buy it instantly?
Sorry if it looks like I'm a poor newbie, but I'm just a bit shocked how easily and quick people bought it..

I hate making recommendation threads, but I don't see any ongoing ones now.
But, basically I'm going as some variation of a horse head guy, we coincidentally have a Miku in our group, and we have one other guy who has nothing. I told him to wear a Scream mask like they do on Niconico sometimes so it'd all fit in, but he doesn't think anybody will get it
So, are there any other outstanding horse mask videos that have multiple people that our last guy could go as? Or any good ideas for him to cosplay that works with a horse head mask in general? We're kind of at a standstill
