So while talking about price checks and Puppet Circus, it was mentioned that a recent Puppet Circus skirt sold for a pretty small sum considering how much it usually goes for.

One thing that made it shady was the way the tag was sewn on, which lead some people to believe it was a replica.
For lolitas that are newer to the fashion and just getting in, what are some tips on distinguishing replicas from the real deal? A lot of starters won't have the same eye for construction that lolitas who have been into the fashion for awhile do.
Of course there are times where it's mentioned something's a replica, but sometimes people do pass fakes off as genuine.
I'd like to hear about some things to looks for, and even see real brand photos side by side with their replicas.

Heya's! Wondering, if you were looking for a guy to be your b/f, take out to Lolita Meets and such, whats your low cut off point for looks and bodytype?
I'm interested, since most of my friends who are Lolita really try and er... bat above their average if you know what I mean. Attempting to get with guys they'd have no chance with. And the ones they are able get, are usually the pretty boys that have issues. ( I spose hooking up with pretty girl with issues would be win-win for everyone then?)

help /cgl/ I need your opinions and advice
I'm bored of doing last-minute rush-job closet cosplays for whatever con I'm attending and I want to take my cosplay to the NEXT LEVEL, but what I want to do is somewhat tricky considering I have basically no experience with alteration or costume design (however, my mother is an ex-designer so I've got access to sewing machines, dressmakers dummies, fabric, probably anything else I'd need too).
Right now I'm reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and trying to decide who I want to cosplay. My problem is that most of the characters I really love are from Part 3 onwards, 90% of which have Stands . While it'd probably be easy to find a green Gakuran and customise it slightly so I can cosplay Kakyoin, it'd be much harder for me to put together a fucking good looking Hierophant Green and find one of my friends willing to wear it. Same deal for Part 3 Dio, with the added problem that in addition to creating Za Warudo I'd have to work out how to make Dio's crazy looking jumpsuit and shoes. I don't really want to shy away from these characters because they'd be too hard to make work, but at the same time I'm very mindful that it'd be a total waste to put so much work into a two different cosplays when I don't have anyone lined up to wear the second one (especially considering it'd be mostly custom and I wouldn't have measurements or anything aaaa), and that it'd be kind of lame to cosplay someone from JJBA without their Stand.
