Additional update: If you were affected by this and haven't gone to the police by now. . . well, yea, you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, to say the least.

so /cgl/, as I always have time to think about stupid things here and interesting one that recently occured to me:
LARPing and Cosplaying are very similar yet there are a few things that makes them really different. One of those things is the amount of action (obviously larps has more action than cosplays) another one is the area where one is organized (usually a larp is somewhere outside in the nature, while a Con is in a building). There are of course exceptions as always but I'm kind of generalizing right now.
And there is one very important difference that recently occured to me.
As far as I know cosplayers are mainly women, not 100% of them but I think it's safe to assume that most of them is one.
On the other hand larpers are mostly males, of course there are more than a few girls who are larping but the huge majority are still males.
So the first of all feel free to correct me if you think this is not the case. Then the real question is: why?
I can the amount of action can be one of the reasons but still it's just one part of the larps and let be a honest, larps are not something that one would call "manly". And while I admittedly don't know too much about cosplaying I don't think it's the pinnacle of womanly behavior either.
