Previous thread: >>9023354

In the previous thread we discussed cosplayers doing porn, CMV’s, and then of course there was Animecon. Lots of preparing, post-con discussion and the /CGL/ meet which wasn't anything like I had imagined it. Make sure to give it a read if you enjoy behind the scenes stories.

So how did everyone enjoy Animecon? Any fun stories, pictures, behind the scenes information or drama you want to share?

Convention news and agenda up to August:
>Tomoplay (July 2nd & 3rd, Berghem) is a retro, card and board games related meetup. Tickets are €2,50 (€5,00 incl. bus).
>Castlefest (August 5th - 7th, Lisse) is an outdoor fantasy convention. Tickets are currently on sale starting at €21,95 per day.
>Abunai (August 26th - 28th, Veldhoven) is the other big Dutch anime convention. Hotel rooms are sold out and day tickets are running low, so make sure to buy your tickets while you still can.
>Amsterdam Comic Con (August 27th - 28th) is a comic convention much like DCC, only bigger better and stronger. Tickets start at €15 and are currently on sale
>If there are any conventions or events I missed, which I did, feel free to post it in the thread and I'll include it in the next OP

Lot's of things didn't went as planned.
Models got stuck in traffic, models cancelled last minute, and one got sick.
I think considering the fact so many things went wrong they did pretty well.
The mori with the wings wasn't even wearing mori but I heard she didn't wear what was planned. The brolita was a last minute thing cos models didn't show up.
So yeah, I liked it.

Now to shortly continue my behind the scenes stories from >>9051097...
>The main photographer was stressed all con and feared a repeat of last years "rendering failed", which caused a delay with the closing ceremony. He also had a lot of new photographers on his team who kept sending him shitty blurry pictures. The guy was pretty chill tho, and really enjoyed seeing someone actually interested in his work during a cigarette break
>Last year (or the year before that) there were snipers on the roof of the ASC-ICTY, which is located on the other side of the fountain in front of the hotel. While is protocol whenever the Joegoslavië tribunaal is active, the Umbrella Corp soldiers complete with gun props, were told stay the fuck away from the fountain if they didn't want an additional hole in their head.

>>9052034
Wouldn't surprise me to be honest as there were multiple A2 calls (gepaste spoed). I saw loads of groups drinking vodka, amaretto, rum and cheap Scotch. Around 4am there were a lot of girls sitting alone in the hallways looking absolutely overheated and exhausted. Actually checked on a couple of them and gave them some water. That is before I stopped caring about people who aren't able to handle their hard liquor/drugs.

>>9052043

Odds are they will. Several steward friends of mine told me they had received several requests from dealers to allow them to sell more 18+ items like onaholes, vibrators and such. While it hasn't been discussed yet, the general response was positive and the idea is to keep in a separated 18+ section to keep the con family friendly. My biggest problem however is that it's extremely easy to trade your badge and I would prefer to see (paper) 18+ wristbands.

Honestly, even if they won't allow adult toys to be sold I would still be in favour of putting 18+ stuff in a separated area, or at least out of direct sight. There was one dealer who put all his hentai DVDs and games with the covers facing up on a table. And I'm not talking about some tame "OMG my teacher is hot" hentai, I'm talking about "chained up elf girls with a broken facial expressions, ripped clothes and tentacles tightly wrapped around their milk makers and making their way into what's left of their panties" hentai. Now as a pervert/kinker I don't mind seeing these things, but at least keep it in one place so people looking for normal things won't have to deal with neckbeards breathing heavily over "Neko Milk Maid Paradise volume 3". Also think of the children, no father would want to explain to his daughter why Miku is stuck in a hole in the wall with guys trying to "push her our" with their meat sticks...

But yes, they did great at the food selection. I still couldn't help fetching me some roti, bara and bakkeljauw as that stuff is nearly impossible to get in Brabant. That is unless I make it myself which costs me an entire evening day to do properly. I miss living in Amsterdam...

>>9052159
We can always give Animecon feedback on the placement of the food stands. With the expansion of the World Forum there is now more than enough space to get the food court in a better location, like where they placed that DDR machine, Air hockey table and small stage.
