Hey /ck/, like a lot of you, I'm prepping for Thanksgiving.
I am ashamed though to admit that I don't know much about deep frying things. I bought these sweet potatoes with the intention of making sweet potato fries as a side dish. However, I don't have a thermometer to measure the oil temperature.
So I have a couple of questions:
Can I go without a thermometer?
What kind of oil should I use?
And finally, personally, do you think sweet potato fries are better with salty or sweet seasoning? I'm thinking of just using salt and pepper.
