Hey ro/ck/stars, Merry Christmas! Here is the final Advent Calendar thread of the year. :) Almost all of the books in this year's Calendar are available in both PDF and ePUB. If possible, I really recommend that you download the ePUB version as the PDF has been converted from the original ePUB and may be formatted irregularly as a result. You can download a free ePUB reader from Adobe or install a plug-in for your browser to view the files. Today's book are requests I was able to fill: >I'm Just Here For the Food by Alton Brown EPUB: n/a PDF: http://www.mediafire.com/?3oim4ao9h70x3n8 >Martha Stewart's Cookies by Martha Stewart EPUB: n/a PDF: http://www.mediafire.com/?pgkajcyn6ncef5w >New England Soup Factory Cookbook by Marjorie Druker and Clara Silverstein EPUB: n/a PDF: http://www.mediafire.com/?i6nhmpc9hkp6kgs >Ratio: The Simple Codes Behind the Craft of Everyday Cooking by Michael Ruhlman EPUB: http://www.mediafire.com/?g1l8b78ljmk3rxf PDF: http://www.mediafire.com/?hp7qu5zyuq6oyo1 >Top Pot Hand-Forged Donuts by Mark and Michael Klebeck EPUB: http://www.mediafire.com/?n823pm5k5b9z6gy PDF: http://www.mediafire.com/?z8p9mdt4sdjdjpd >2012 issues of Food Network magazine EPUB: n/a PDF: http://filepost.com/files/b1d12cfm/Food_Network_mag_2012.rar/ >2012 issues of Saveur magazine EPUB: n/a PDF: http://filepost.com/files/1b5mb4ed/Saveur_mag_2012.rar/

For 4 glorious years now HeartsOnFire has been benevolently providing /ck/ with an advent calendar of cookbooks! 25 Cookbooks every year free of charge for download! This is how we thank her! This thread is to say THANK YOU to HOF! Post pictures of the recipes you have made from any of the books she has provided since 2009 (preferably with timestamps!) HOF also loves family recipes, so if you have areal legit family recipe that has been passed down to you you can gift it to her here. (I will post another one of these threads in a month or so when I have more opportunity to make more recipes. You can also start your own threads!) Merry Christmas, and thank you HOF!

Good morning /cock/, I don't really drink alcohol but I think I'll start my long path down alcoholism on this lonely New Years day that's approaching. All I know is that I don't want something super potent (like Everclear[sp?]) and I'll want something that I can mix/cut with pop of my choice. So I'd like some recommendations or suggestion on what to try. Also I'm used to seeing Sprite/MD/Coke but is there anything that goes well with Dr. Pepper?

My roommate just came back from christmas with his family and they had bacon cheese. I've made bacon vodka, bacon weaves, bacon pasta, tons of shit with bacon and have an extra 6 pounds of it frozen. I cant find what he was talking about through google though, despite my google-fu. He said it was a solid block of cheese, except with tiny chunks of bacon in it and likely had the bacon grease infused with it. How would you imagine I would make this? If I could get any advice it would be appreciated

Ok I was just given about 15 pounds of locally raised pork. The owners of the pigs have a bakery and the pigs eat all the scraps. I have been warned that the meat has a bit of an odd taste. Is this normal for non factory raised pork?

ITT: Stuff you've bought on a whim and can no longer find. Pic related; I bought it from safeway a couple of months back because it was on sale. Now that the bottle is nearly empty, I can't seem to find it anymore at any groceries. I've tried Cholula hot sauce but it doesn't compare in my opinion.

sup /ck/. Gots me this recipe for some cookies I want to try. Problem is, the recipe yields 30+ cookies. If I only want to make 10-12, should I just cut all ingredients by 1/3? OH, and cookie general I supposed

I'm buying some spices from my favorite spice store from my home town who I just found out has an online presence, though sort of a buggy Pic shows what spices I've picked out so far, looking for anything else I could use before I make my selection. Already have their Lemon Pepper, italian seasoning, pasta sprinkle, granulated garlic, lemongrass, italian dressing base, and herbes de provence and ginger from some other brand. What else looks good and would be useful in the kitchen? http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/c-SpicesAs_Herbs_and_Seasonings.html http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/c-SpicesAs_Herbs_and_Seasonings2.html http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/c-SpicesAs_Herbs_and_Seasonings3.html I'm eyeballing that chipotle although I've never actually had it so I don't know what it's like
