What does moonshine taste like? I have a new acquaintance who offered to help me obtain moonshine. When I asked him what it tastes like he said "not much, just burning". This is the same guy that talks about how much he likes jack Daniels so I wouldn't expect him to be able to answer that question. Apparently his dude typically used a corn mash. I really like bourbon, so is it possible for unaged whiskey to have a nice flavor?

There's a scene in "The 'Burbs" (1988) where Tom Hanks is socially pressured into eating a whole sardine on a pretzel. Does that sound like a good snack to you? Do you even like sardines? I ate them as a kid right out of the can, edible bones and all. Now I think they're pig disgusting.

Someone posted here a few days back re: Dave's Killer Bread, and getting it shipped to her/him at 11 bucks a loaf. Here's a recipe from Bob's Red Mill that I think approximates & surpasses Dave's. And it's for a bread machine. I make it about every fourth loaf. http://www.bobsredmill.com/recipes.php?recipe=31 1-1/4 cups Water 3 Tbsp Non-Fat Dry Milk Powder 3/4 tsp Sea Salt 1-1/2 Tb Vegetable Oil 2-1/2 cups Unbleached White Flour 1 cup + 2 Tbsp 7 Grain Hot Cereal 2-1/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast 2 Tbsp Poppy Seeds 2 Tbsp White Hulled Sesame Seeds 2 Tbsp Raw Shelled Sunflower Seeds 3 Tb Molasses Directions Step 1 Add all ingredients, except the seeds, in the order suggested by your bread machine cycle and process on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturer's directions. At the beeper (or at the end of the first kneading on the Panasonic or National), add the seeds. Step 2 Remove from bread machine immediately after cooking. Let loaf cool for 15 minutes before slicing.

Put some 5 spoons of olive oil on a frying pan cut a onion the size of your fist on to it and smash 3 tooth of garlic and add it (do not cut the garlic, smash it on the table. Find some decent portobello mushrooms slice them and add to the pan, at this time add some salt, a teaspoon should suffice also add some hot peppers if u enjoy them, cover the frying pan and wait for the mushrooms so they can release the vapor and the humidity on them, add a little wine OR 2 spoons of worcester sauce, then add little cubes of beef (bout 150g per person) once the beef starts to get some color add 2 mashed tomatoes and let it cook for 15 mins in low heat. Serve with pasta, boiled potatoes or white rice, and drop a spoon of riccota cheese on top of the meat. This is your first step to start cooking your meals and lose some fat.

Might not be the right place to ask, but Is anyone here a butcher? I'm currently volunteer tutoring a guy English, (he knows six months of immersed English so far), and he has a goal of becoming a butcher. Thing is I know next to nothing of butchery, he already has the experience in his home country (Mian'mar), but needs to learn the job in English before he'd have a chance at getting one here. What sort of terms should I be looking at helping him learn? so far I've got cuts of meat and tools, customer service (which is fine as I do jobs that use that myself). Anything important I'm forgetting?

I'm trying to make some burgers. I've got beef mince, bbq sauce, chilli flakes, onion, peppers, courgettes, garlic powder, flour, eggs...and other spices. Not sure how exactly to prepare the burger.
