Hi /ck/, is it normal for chicken thighs to smell a bit? I can't describe the odour other than 'meaty'. I've never noticed any strong smell handling breast but I figure the higher fat content could make it smell a bit? I can't see a reason there should be something wrong - it was bought two days ago, still good for at least three days and I stored it in the fridge in a recloseable bag.

Is it possible to mix Disaronno and Baileys without the Baileys congealing? if so how? tried mixing it with whiskey before and after 10 mins it just coagulates and floats to the top, not very appealing

I genuinely don't like steak, am I a pleb or what? I find it to be a ridiculously simple and archaic meal, only enjoyed by most people because of some Emperor's New Clothes shit because everyone on American TV loves steak. I'd much prefer a meal with complex flavours and ingredients. It could just be because I really dislike dry food, I suppose. Anyone else dislike steak?

Dessert

I have an absolutely insane sweet tooth and often just stir in my own cravings after dinner, wanting but not getting anything sweet. Are there any 100-300 calorie desserts(or dessert alternatives) of a large size? The only ones I've seemed to come across are greek yogurt and this one ice cream called "arctic zero." It seems that all the low calorie options for dessert lovers are these tiny, "snack size" foods that don't satisfy me. Any ideas? pic unrelated.

I'm going to start off by apologizing /ck/, most of you may think that this is a reposted shit thread, and this is really not my intent. Okay /ck/, I've really fucked up. So last month I was on vacation/sick 2 days, so my salary ended up being quite a bit less than I thought it would be this month. And by the time I realized how much money I actually didn't have, I had spent a large portion of the money I do have. I've now payed all my bills so in that regard I'm fine, but for food I have roughly 40 dollars to survive on until the 22nd. The way I see it, until the 4th I'm anyways at work everyday and then I'll be having the packed lunch I bring with the food I still have in my fridge. Then I am free until the 11th. I'm thinking if I stay home and sleep the majority of those days I'll require less food and will be able to survive on maybe 2 packets of ramen a day. Then it's back to work on the 11th, free on the 12 and 13, then work till 17th, free 18/19, work 20-22 and then I get my pay check. So basically, what can I buy with 40 bucks so that I'll survive? I don't want to be too limited to beans and rice, frankly cause I am not particularly fond of either, and after three weeks of both I'll be insane from it. Currently in my fridge I think I'll have food until at least next Friday. But as to not shame myself in front of my coworkers, I don't want to -appear- to be poor, you know? It gives off a shitty reflection upon me. It's a place I'm not used to being in, since at most maybe I have survived a week with this little money. I'm used to having a much larger paycheck as well as fewer bills, but things happen, and now I am here. Please /ck/, what do? .

>tfw food pleb I'd like to start cooking a lot more instead of eating shitty TV dinners and frozen skillet bags and ramen noodles and all that really gross shit Where do you start? Cook books? The Food Network? I want to eat somewhat cheaply as I've been strapped on cash but I'd like to not eat box food anymore I'm sure you get someone like me every fucking day on here but could you guys push me in the right direction? I don't want to be a food pleb anymore.

What do you think is the bare minimum anyone need to know about cooking to not be considered a tasteless barbarian? How to make a great omelet, how to cook a perfect medium rare steak, how to properly cook pasta, or maybe know how to bake a good loaf of bread, and so on?

/ck/, am I plebeian for immensely enjoying ramen soup? Not the noodles with the soup. Just the fucking flavor packet in hot-ass water and drinking that shit up. I fear that, one day, I will be laughed at for serving people steaming hot flavor packet as part of a meal.

A nice dark beer and fried hash browns on a Wednesday morning, I didn't realize how good life was until right now.
