Hey /ck/ its my birthday tomorrow and im planning on eating some lobster. I've always boiled them whole and dipped the meat in butter, but im looking for a different way to serve them. I was wondering if any of you have other delicious ways to prepare Lobster besides the standard whole boil.

I just got a french press. I bought some pre-ground coffee along with it turns out that was a mistake. Fortunately I was able to get some beans at a place near by that has its own grinder. So now I have a half pound of coarse ground french roast coffee and a french press to make it with. One thing I'm wondering, what do you do with the coffee grounds afterward? Can they just go down the drain?

Mexican Style Pulled Pork

So I have a recipe for Pulled Pork that I really like, that I got from America's Test Kitchen. I'm trying to adapt it to have more of a Mexican taste though, to use for in tacos and such. Here is the recipe: Ingredients 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, plus extra as needed 1/4 cup sweet paprika 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon onion powder 1 tablespoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper salt pepper 1 (5 lb) boneless pork butt, trimmed and quartered 1 cup barbecue sauce, plus extra for serving cider vinegar Directions: Combine sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, cayenne, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a bowl. Using a fork, prick pork all over. Rub sugar mixture over pork, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 8-24 hours. Unwrap pork and place in slow cooker. Spread barbecue sauce evenly over pork, cover, and cook until pork is tender, 9-11 hours on LOW or 5-7 hours on HIGH. Transfer pork to large bowl; let cool slightly, then shred into bite-size pieces discarding excess fat; cover to keep warm. Let braising liquid settle for 5 minutes, then remove fat from surface using a large spoon. Season with salt, pepper, sugar, and vinegar to taste. Toss shredded pork with 1 cup braising liquid; add more liquid as needed to keep meat moist. Serve on buns with pickle chips and more barbecue sauce. So I was considering modifying the rub by adding 1/4 cup chili powder, dropping the paprika down to like a tablespoon, keeping the garlic, onion powder and cumin as it is, and instead of barbeque sauce, using adobe sauce. Obviously, I'd serve it on tortillas with traditional taco toppings, and I wouldn't use the cider vinegar. I'm not quite sure what to do about the brown sugar. Does this sound good to you guys? Or am I totally going in the wrong direction?

Do you have good recipes for beans? I'm going to be poorfagging it up for a while. I'm especially interested in filling for burritos/tacos. Anything that uses a pinto/black/navy type mix?

I want some tea recommendations. I was never really into tea, but recently went to a coffee shop one night and got a spiced apple tea because I was looking for something light on the caffeine and was surprised by how good it was. I grew up in Alabama and thought tea was nothing more than Lipton's. The spice added a nice, strong flavor to what is normally a taste too subtle for my liking. I've purchased some other apple spiced teas (Yogi and Tazo) and have been disappointed that they are both very weak, I get absolutely no taste of any spice, just a generic black tea taste. Any suggestions, /ck/? My only request is that it needs to be available in bags, I don't don't have room in my kitchen for an infuser.

I'm looking to eat nothing but sandwiches for the next month so I'm wondering if you have any favorite sandwich recipes to share. Nothing overblown or overpriced please, but I'm not adverse to fancy cheeses and whatnot.

Would you guys be able to help me with a shopping list? I have $150 for a month of food, or $37 per week. What can I eat that is feasible to this amount? Taste and what not does not matter, I just want the most filling food (i.e. not ramen, if at all possible)

I challenge /ck/ to devise a good main course recipe that includes cheese, fish, and no noodles. I had someone who's in school to become a chef tell me it can't be done, but I think he's just lacking in creativity. Go!
