sup co/ck/smokers, i just got my ebt card in the mail about a week ago, and am looking for tips/tricks on how to use it. from what i've learned, you can only use it for 'non-prepared' foods, but are there any loopholes to this (like take-and-bake pizzas)? my local gas station got this shake machine recently, but unfortunately since they are 'made' in the store you can't use ebt to buy them.

I've made beef jerky before with flank steak and a recipe that I found online(Can't remember where I found it) where if I remember correctly the main ingredients were Worcestershire sauce and maybe soy sauce. Unfortunately they didn't come out to well and I couldn't even finish it. I think the cut of meat was fine but the recipe was just so overpowering and the flavors just didn't go together well. I want to try making it again but I'm not sure what recipe I should use or if flank is the best cut to use. I'm just wondering if any of you have any good recipe.

Ok /ck/, here's the deal: I'm starting Uni in September and I'm gonna be self catered, so I thought I would get some relatively good but inexpensive knives that will hold a good edge and not cost a fortune. After looking around on various websites, I found that Victorinox knives (pic related) were highly recommended as both cheap and high quality. I decided I to get a serrated parer (3" or 4") and a Chef's knife (6" or 7") which would be about £25 for both. However, the other day I came across a shop selling them and although the blades looked good, the handles felt like shit and I would rather get something better. Looking at the Victorinox with wooden handles, they are more expensive (roughly £40 for the two knives). So my question is this, is it worth getting the two wooden handled Victorinox knives for £40, or are there better knives I could get for that money? Also, will two knives be enough, baring in mind I won't be doing any gourmet cooking, just relatively basic student meals. tl;dr: What knives are good and inexpensive for a student? And how many/what type should I get? Any advice is helpful, thanks!

So I know traditional meatballs are a mix of ground beef, pork, and lamb. However my grocery store doesn't sell that standard pack you usually see where its already mixed. In fact they sell no lamb products at all. However they do carry ground chicken. Am I gonna make something gross or will I get something fairly decent mixing the ground beef and ground pork with the ground chicken for my meatballs?
