These are the tops of the vidalia onions I'm growing. This is the first time I've actually grown onions. Can I eat the green part, just like spring onions? Should they be a certain height or size when they are most tasty? I want my actual vidalia onion to grow, but right now they will still be small (they are only a couple months old). Can I just snip off the green part of the onion and eat that, or will it hinder the growing of the onion underneath?

Hello /ck/, I would like to know how I can grind my cooking skills. I have money to buy most any ingredients (Not truffles and crazy shit like that) and I'm really keen to improve. All I can cook at the moment is crispy skin Tasmanian salmon with garlic & dill, and beef T-bone with salt, pepper, garlic & chilli seeds rubbed in. I really want to practice and get better. Guys...how...how do I stop being a fucking idiot with the food I eat. All I've eaten for the last 6 months is fast food. I look up recipes sometimes to try out but I just end up giving up and go and buy something terrible. I've been eating butter chicken from a local India place for the last 3 days. This is so bad, I literally eat either nothing throughout the day or have some toast till dinner time, then I'll go get whatever I feel like and get a huge amount of food.
