I cooked some pinto beans in a crockpot, then I left about 2 cups in, threw in 2 chicken breasts and about a cup of salsa. I think the beans are getting dry, but I don't want to add a bunch of water and end up with soup. Are the beans going to burn or anything? What do?

how much do you spend on food a week? im a poor college kid, planing to move out on my own and i just realized i have no idea how much food costs. I enjoy a good meal, so i dont plan on eating any ramen. If i stick to buying the "bad" cuts of meat like chicken thighs, oxtail, beefshanks, and other staple goods how much should i be spending around?? also any tips for making good meals cheaply?

alright /ck/, I have a problem. I pan fry like 90% of the food I eat (chicken, steak, fish), and whenever I put chicken or fish on, the olive oil always burns within 30 seconds of the food hitting the pan, but never burns for steaks. Why is this?
