When baking cookies how taboo is it to use salted butter as opposed to unsalted butter and adding a pinch of salt?

hashbrown question

Can you prep hash browns and leave them in the fridge for later use? I intend to make hash browns for dinner tonight, but I want to go ahead and grate & soak them now. Will they still turn out fine, or will they have a propensity to stick if I do this? Thanks, /ck/.

So I tried cooking rice this evening, but I didn't use enough water: the rice was still a bit hard on the inside... I tried adding a little more water but it didn't help a lot. So /ck/ what do you use as a solution to this problem?

I'm hungry and I have pasta that I'm going to cook. I have limited ingredients, but I don't want to just put butter and parmesan on it. Any suggestions? Here's the ingredients I have: >olive oil, butter, parmesan cheese, garlic, lemon juice, lime juice, various salad dressings. That's pretty much it. tl;dr I need help making a pasta sauce with the listed ingredients. Thanks.

Cooking a Steak

Ok guys I got 2 questions, as everyone of you I want to know how to cook the perfect steak, but as I watch many videos from different chefs, everyone is doing it different. 1. Do you season the steak before you put it in the pan? If yes, what is it with that "salt gets rid of the water in the steak thing"? 2. Do you flip it once or many times? I even saw 2 different Gordon Ramsay videos where in the first he says just flip it once and in the second he says flip it many times to make it cook evenly. What do you think?

is it okay if I eat food off the ground? I mean I often drop a dish and kinda forget it laying there and the next morning I think well there's no mushrooms on it haha, so I just get a new dish put it on there and eat it pic related: sometimes the stuff I eat, but i cut away most of the mold though

Just started eating fruits and vegetables and just realising how stinky they can make things. So aside from making a composter (no garbage disposal and not an option) what can I do with fruits and vegetables? Would a sealed food storage container be the only option? >Just started >2013 >how are you still alive
