Sorry for the crappy camera, but do you see those small holes? I thawed this frozen chicken breast and I was wondering if this was a normal thing. They don't go too deep at all. I assume it may be because the liquid inside expanded to create those holes while it was frozen.

sup /ck/ What temperature do you enjoy your coffee? Personally, I thoroughly enjoy my coffee when it's hot, but not hot enough to burn my tongue. Once my coffee reaches room temperature I'll still drink it but without satisfaction, once it's cold I won't even drink it. I have a friend that will drink coffee at any temperature. I've seen her sip on a coffee for 3 hours sometimes. Not me. How about you? Also, coffee thread in general.

Why don't americans use pressure cookers? I am seriously baffled at your inability to utilize amazing kitchen gadgets, an electric kettle being another example. Pressure cooker is probably my most used cookware. You can literally make a 3-4 hour roast in under an hour and it will taste great too. Wouldn't you make pot roasts more often if it took 45 minutes on the stove rather than 2 hours in the oven? Simmer soaked legumes for 2 hours? Unsoaked legumes just take 20 minutes in a pressure cooker. I just can not understand why won't more people use this.

Pic related, I'm about to eat some of this. Alton Brown worshiping newcooks, please find another thread to brag about how you managed to not hurt yourself putting tomatoes in a pan with garlic and oil. This is a jarred food thread.

Are there any TV shows or resources that teach you not only how to cook, but how to cook in a restaurant? Miraculously got hired as a line cook with zero cooking experience, and I'm learning quick enough, I just need help on things like balancing tickets, timing with other orders, and cooking presentable dishes as fast as possible. I can handle one station fine enough, but having more than one responsibility where I'm jumping stations, and I get confused. Basically how do I cook in a restaurant with no culinary school experience? This stuff is stressful if you're not experienced with it.

Ideas for eating canned tuna

Hello /ck/, what kind of dishes can I make with canned tuna? I don't know if I like the stuff but I want to try it. I'm a picky eater in recovery so there are some conditions: - It can't be in salad form. I don't like mayonnaise nor most dressings. - I'm certain I won't like it in pies or pasta - I'm not sure about those tuna patties I see posted all the time. Any alternatives?
