Are Lodge cast iron pans good? It's the only brand I can find in my country. Do I have to remove the seasoning that is already on it to apply my own seasoning? And I have never done this before obviously, but after coating a pan in oil and heating it up in the oven, would the pan be sticky or have a rancid smell if it's just kept in storage? Would bacteria and weird odors accumulate on the pan if I just wipe it down with a cloth after cooking?

Is there a /ck/-archive with a lot of infographics and basic recipes and stuff? My gf just dumped me and I feel like getting my life together now. I'd prefer simple recipes with rice and stuff though. Just so I get enough nutrition to function properly and do some sports. I'd also prefer to cook for more than one day.

I have some stuff to use up in a batch of bolognese. Unfortunately I only have the one frying pan to make it in, and I'm not sure what order I should add everything. Is there a better start than just browning the meat on its own on high then dropping to low and adding the onions, garlic, carrots, mushrooms, peppers, and tomato paste - leaving to soften before adding chopped tomatoes and herbs etc and simmering?

b-b-b-breakfast thread! What are you fools eating for breakfast today? Right now I've got some steel cut oats on the stove which I'll be stirring in some crushed cashews, a mashed banana, and some peanut butter; yum! Add in muh litre of coffee and I'll soon be ready to face the world. Any breakfast rituals? I love watching a Star Trek in the mornings. The length of an episode is about as long as it'll take me to drink the coffee.
