Are there any good cuts of meat that are still decently priced? Kroger is selling fucking oxtail 5.99 per pound. Everybody says the fatty slow braising meats (short ribs, oxtail, etc.) are supposed to be cheaper but in my experience that isn't the case anymore. Brisket is still the best buy IMO. $2 per pound most places

How to debone a fish

13 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: 565158854.jpg]
So the other day I bought some rainbow trout that had to be deboned. I watched two tutorials on Youtube, one said to cook the fish first, the other said to debone it before cooking. I tried deboning it before cooking but was always left with a row of small bones (about 1-2 cm long) that I had to pick out. /ck/izens, please share your wisdom in how to cleanly debone a fish.

Hey /ck/ thanksgiving is coming up and I'd like to do something special for my grandparents this year since we've always done the whole thing at thier place and were all tired of dried turkey. I was thinking of taking some bacon, weaving a bowl from it, season up something like lamb bits, toss it in the bowl wrap it up real good shove it in the ads of a duck and cook it for several hours. Any thoughts? I haven't researched the science part of this yet, just an idea. Also thanksgiving stories and crazy ideas. Pic always related, bacon

How do you enjoy your tea, /ck/? With honey? Lemon? What about Milk? I just got my hands on some loose leaf french vanilla, black cranberry, toasted amaretto, Yunnan black needle, and some generic black peach and black raspberry. I usually put only honey in my tea but would like to try other ways to prepare them. I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Okay, so I decided to brew a batch of mead. It's my first experience with this, and I;ll be honest, I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing. I made a bottle of apple cider once before that turned out okay, but can get some advice. My setup is basically the pic. 3 lbs of honey, filled the rest of the jug with spring water, a chopped orange, some raisins, cloves, and cinnamon. Recently, the store I work at started stocking a beer brewing kit. My batch is on;y a few days old. Should I ditch it and use the kit, or will I be sucessful in how I've proceeded?
