Are there any good cuts of meat that are still decently priced? Kroger is selling fucking oxtail 5.99 per pound. Everybody says the fatty slow braising meats (short ribs, oxtail, etc.) are supposed to be cheaper but in my experience that isn't the case anymore. Brisket is still the best buy IMO. $2 per pound most places

I generally don't have much to spend so I use this > Folger's medium brew > 1 teaspoon of sugar > 1 1/2 teaspoons of french vanilla creamer > a dab of honey > (the type of honey depends on the budget

Are you supposed to eat the white hard part? I think it's called rind. I just ate some and it had the a bitter taste, almost unpalatable.

Burritos

I am planning on making a bunch of burritos this weekend and freezing them for future use. The recipes I have found seem to be mostly vegetarian burritos but I want to use ground beef as well. Will the beef freeze as good or would they be better without? I would like to do something like this with beef: http://www.budgetbytes.com/2012/09/roasted-vegetable-burritos/ But the same site also has this for freezer burritos: http://www.budgetbytes.com/2010/10/freezer-burritos/ Marked difference in the ingredients from the same site. I assume cilantro won't survive the freeze but will the rest of it? What recipes do you use for making burritos? Especially if you freeze 'em!

How to debone a fish

13 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: 565158854.jpg]
So the other day I bought some rainbow trout that had to be deboned. I watched two tutorials on Youtube, one said to cook the fish first, the other said to debone it before cooking. I tried deboning it before cooking but was always left with a row of small bones (about 1-2 cm long) that I had to pick out. /ck/izens, please share your wisdom in how to cleanly debone a fish.

Hey /ck/ thanksgiving is coming up and I'd like to do something special for my grandparents this year since we've always done the whole thing at thier place and were all tired of dried turkey. I was thinking of taking some bacon, weaving a bowl from it, season up something like lamb bits, toss it in the bowl wrap it up real good shove it in the ads of a duck and cook it for several hours. Any thoughts? I haven't researched the science part of this yet, just an idea. Also thanksgiving stories and crazy ideas. Pic always related, bacon
