Quiznos is mid quality food at a high price.

So if it's between those two, I'd have to go for Subway.

I'm pretty sure there's a network of ghetto Subways that only employ drug addicts who can no longer tie their own shoes. It's the only explanation for why/the way some seem to hate the place.

both of these were on my college meal plan.

Subway is generally shit, but the flatbread can be fuckawesome. BLT on flatbread is bomb and blows everything else out of the water.

But in GENERAL quiznos is much better because everything toasted is better.

Yeah, and for some reason I've never encountered one of these subways. I've had sub-par service before, but there are a lot of people on here that act like it's pig slop on cardboard.

It's mediocre at best, but it's also $5 for two meals worth of food.

It's a decent meal if you don't go in expecting the best sandwich ever. Bunch of cold cuts, some vegies that are at least still crisp, and wonder bread tier bread. I'm not getting it for the slow smoked pork belly, goat cheese, and imported dijon, and with that in mind it's hard to beat for the price and generally better than most fast food. Quiznos on the other hand annoys me, even if side by side it's marginally better, because they like to pretend it's a genuinely top tier sandwich and charge you accordingly.

My problem with subway is for $5 I get a single layer of thin cut deli meat and a single layer or subpar cheese on a mediocre sandwich roll with as much cheap ass shit piled on as I want.

I want a sandwich, that means at least as much meat and cheese combined as there is bread, what subway gives me is a dinner roll with a meat and cheese garnish.

Yeah, but that's not actually what you get with any of the trash tier cold cut subs. They're all like three meats deep and overlap so you've got six slices everywhere but the inch at either end.

You can get that anywhere you go. You just have to pay for it. Are you telling me that Quiznos, JJ's or any other sub chain will give you stacks of meat and cheese for 5 dollars? Please point me to one that does, because that's a bargain. Otherwise you have to pay to get that kind of stack. Subway would be happy to give you 20 slices of meat and cheese if you're willing to give them the appropriate amount of money for it.

Not at any subway I've ever been to anywhere, I've always had to pay out the ass for "extra" to get even enough meat the register as being on the sandwich.

>>4897845
If I'm paying $5 for a sandwich there damned well better be some substance to it. I'm not paying that much for at most $2-3 worth of veggies on bread. I also don't want that much veggies on my sandwiches, if I want that I'll just get a fucking salad and eat bread with it.

Subway. I only have 200 dollars a month budgeted for food and ive found that it actually saves me a dollar a day when i get a 5 dollar foot long because it costs more for me to buy all the toppings, meat, and bread, separately.

For a footlong sub? That must be your franchise then. In the DFW area we have Firehouse, JJs and Quiznos and the footlongs (actually 11 inches) are nowhere near 5 dollars. Quiznos offers 6 dollar large subs, but they are equivalent to Subway. They aren't their normal/premium subs.

Or they know portion control. You could stop at half and no longer be hungry. You choose to eat the whole thing at once because it tastes good and because you physically can. Just because you physically can doesn't mean you should. But it's whatever, you're your own governor.

They're not footlong, but comparing what I've gotten from all 3 places, I get more non-bread food out of a JJ 8" or firehouse however long than I do on a subway footlong. And their bread is better, even if I'm getting (slightly) less of it.

I didn't say appropriate to you. It's appropriate to them. The value they have placed on their product. If you want that extra meat or cheese, you have two choices: eat somewhere that gives you what you want for the price you're okay with, or make your own sandwich and pile on as much as you want. The latter will always be the best option for someone who wants a lot of substance to their sandwich. Me, personally, I don't care either way and think it's a good deal to pay 5 bucks for a footlong. Especially when the monthly offering is one of their fancier options. A ham and cheese or cold cut sub? Yeah those suck and I won't eat there if that's all they offer for 5 bucks. But when they have stuff like the chicken breast for 5? Hell yeah, that's $2.50 off the normal price. Stuff it full of every veggie and there's 2 sandwiches with substance.

Ya'll motherfuckers don't know about Shlomo Gourmet Deli, best sandwiches in the world, made by a crazy Syrian man (so crazy that he left the store under control of his brother so he could go fight for Assad). Hot subs, cold subs, salads, beer, any way you want it, huge portions, the place stays open till 4 AM and then opens back up at 8 AM for breakfast, and the motherfucker delivers.

What I'm trying to say here: Look for local sandwich places and get to know the people who make your food, it will always be a thousand times better than any franchise.

By calculating how much energy you spend a day versus how much you consume. If you're spending more energy than you're consuming, you can eat what you want. If you are eating more than you expend and begin gaining weight as a result, it's time to recalculate and find out what your max calories for the day ought to be.

If you can eat a whole footlong and still feel hungry, there's no reason why you couldn't fill that empty space with vegetables or other low calorie options. But there's something greater going on there if that's the case. If I were in that position, I'd keep a close on eye on it when I approach 30 because that shit won't last forever.

You shouldn't. It's not necessary. Unless you're an athlete who is consuming 10k+ calories a day to maintain their muscle mass or weight if doing a swimmer level of high cardio, it simply is not necessary. You will not starve or die from not eating the whole footlong. It's always a choice to eat that much. Maybe that anon IS an athlete. Probably not. But either way, their life does not depend on eating the whole footlong. They just want to eat it. Which is fine, go ahead. But it's not necessary.

>>

>>4897923
That's the thing though, just because it's not necessary doesn't mean you necessarily shouldn't. It's not necessary to season food and cook it in ways that make it taste good, so should I just blend all my food up in a blender and drink it as a smoothie?

>>
Anonymous 2013-10-26 03:17:22 No.4897936

Sure, but can you give a good reason why they should? Other than they simply can? I gave a good reason why they might want to. Another might be because it's the only thing they eat all day. No biggie. I went through phases when I'd only eat one 1500 cal meal a day because of work or other busy times. Those are the only ones I can come up with, though. "Because they want to" isn't really a good reason. That kind of gluttony is why people are so fat now.

Yes, I realize that anon claims to be 130 and is not fat. But "because I can and I'm a stick" is still not a good reason overall. Why would you purposely eat more than is required just for funsies? I can't see the logic in that.

pick one.

Politics and everything else that goes with it, it's obvious that the jews have perfected the deli unless of course you're some yokal who wants ham and cheese on white bread with processed murican cheese slathered in mayo. Not saying you are but I pity those poor dumb bastards, I really do.

That said outside of the major cities it's not easy to find that sorta thing. A good second choice is a good italian style deli. The real issue however is that there is a crisis. Because Americans are becoming limp wristed faggots too weak except for their pride parades the traditional deli is going away. In it's palce are shitty "sandwhich" chains or worse yet trendy restaurants for some yuppies and ignorant youth of america who would rather have a soy lemongrass salad with mango salsa instead of a corned beef sandwhich on rye. So instead of debating if sholmo's, guiesspie's, or even Mohammed's deli is better, we should embrace the true meat counter style delicatessen as a shrine, worthy of being a UNESCO Heritage site.
