After watching a bunch of anime, reading Jojo, and playing Japanese games, I was wondering, why is it that Japan is able to have characters with strange or outrageous abilities and weapons, yet have them still be formidable or interesting, while America just scoffs at them and proceeds to treat them as goofy Golden/Silver Age shit or make them SUPER SRS TO FIT MODERN TIMES?
Like music. I mean, here in America, only sound powers are taken seriously like with Black Canary and Banshee, but ones who actually do use instruments are treated as silly or LOLNEILPATRICKHARRIS, while in a bunch of anime, videogames, and manga, characters who use instruments like I-No from Guilty Gear here are actually competent and treated as legit threats

For some reason the last thread got deleted, guess I'll elaborate more.
The question was How come people who are into AT aren't recieving all the hate that bronies do?
The similarities are numerous,
Most of the vocal fanbase is too old to be watching this children's show.
Most of the vocal fanbase, when called out on this, will argue about the shows depth, and lessons that appeal to viewers of all ages
Both franchises have more merch than KISS, and fans wear it poudly.
A good chunk of the vocal fanbases make a fetish of the show, with rule 34s, fantasies, etc. etc.
So how come only one fanbase is recieving the hate?
Why is it so cool to be an AT fan and not a brony?
