I want an arcade for my mancave. Thinking about building one. The Cab costs $500 shipped from http://www.recroommasters.com/x_arcade_p/rm-xt-arc-t.htm The Tankstick is $190 shipped from http://www.xgaming.com/store/category/arcade-joysticks-and-game-controllers/ which includes for free Maximus Pc Software. Thinking I can find a tower and 22 inch screen for around $400. Am I missing something? Good build? If soo for around $1100 I think its not a bad deal.

>flaky rudder axis pot on joystick (Saitek X52, a common problem!) >some tell you to use contact cleaner >some tell you to use WD40 >some tell you to use isopropyl alcohol >others say 'rubbing alcohol' (which is probably isopropyl alcohol) I thank you in advance with software advice!

Is there something I can do to make my ice cream freeze and not be a cream? My fridge is not very strong.

Flexable arm/ductwork?

'sup /diy/, I'm trying to re-create this terminal prop from Brazil, but I'm having trouble finding somthing to hold that screen lens in place that looks like the one pictured. Would one of those flexible camera mounts work? The lens is a little lighter than a camera, but I thought the angle might cause trouble. Any thoughts?

Where would I buy a flux pen? I need to solder a new DC jack onto my laptop and I feel like liquid flux would be too messy. I can only find them online.

Did this thread a few times before, but it's been months since the last one. You i/diy/ots got anything you want answered? Worked in paint, lighting and kitchen design. I'll be hitting the sack soon, but will check this thread for the next few days. PS, we got 3d printers now. >WE HI TECH NIGGA!

Website-ing

So I'm looking to set up a website very soon, and I really don't know where to start. I've finished a couple courses at codecademy.com, and I have the idea in my mind. I also have a PHP script I'm looking to run. I really have no idea where to start or what to do though. Would anyone like to help a website dummy out?

I want to get into pottery (am-i-gay?) but found the most workshops unreasonably expensive. If i invest that money in my own gear i get more out of i i reckon. The burning would prolly be the most expensive part as the diy guise use a propane bottel per burning. Experiences? Insults? Motivational smacktalk? Pic unrelated

Hey /diy/ I need to set up a 60 gallon compressor shop. I'd like to keep it closer to the finishing area which is about 50ft from the breaker box. My question Is how far can I place the compressor from the breaker at maximum? Pic related.

Wireless LED indicators

Hi all, I have a device that has led indicators in it. I want to be able to see those indicators in a room that the device is not located in. Running wires is not an option. Is there a simple wireless transmitter/receiver that I can make that will light up an led when the one in the device lights up?

I'm the guy from a week or so ago who was making a treehouse with a mate out of just branches and logs, using nothing but nails, an axe, saw and a hammer. It's going pretty well, we added some more supports underneath it too. As far as waterproofing it goes (so we can be inside it in the rain, that's all) how should we go about the roof?

Hi /diy/, SO, I'm in need of somebody that can CAD something for me. It's not super complex, with just 6 unique pieces. I would do it myself, but I'm terrible at CAD, and my CAD guy has dropped from the face of the earth. If you're decent at it, I may even pay a little cash ;) And to keep this thread within the bounds of the rules: Anybody cut ~3mm aluminium themselves? Is it difficult?

I'm about to start forging, the medieval way. Little blades, small objects, stuff like that. What kind of oven will I need to do that ? Can I just start with a small rock oven, and a blower under it ? Will it be hot enough to bend the metal ?

Hey /diy/, besides peltier tiles, what methods have you heard of to get electricity from the human body? I'm looking to see how feasible it is to make a small handle that could power an LED or two just by being in someones hand.

Anyone here work with earthen clay? I had an idea for my next project, I want to go to thrift stores to find an old ceiling fan and bust out the motor to use for a homemade potter's wheel! I loved clay potter's wheel when i was a kid. But then I realized I don't have a way to fire earthen clay at home... So has anyone made a kiln or is there another good way to do this at home? I must be bad at this particular google search query because I'm not getting great results. Most answers are trying to get me to build a fucking brick-floor furnace in my back yard lol, I'm not really that serious. I just want to make some little clay pots every once in a while and fire them.
